Thread regarding Ford layoffs

MJ sent out an updated test vehicle usage policy. Anyone know what sparked this?

His email outlined some stricter usage of the internal test vehicles, including reiterating that non-Ford personnel can’t be in the vehicle if any of the software is unreleased.

Anybody hear of why he sent this out of nowhere? I’d imagine someone was misusing the vehicles in Dearborn but we haven’t been given any details. Did someone abuse it? Take their friends to a strip club? Get a DUI?

How did MJ rise to power? Does anyone know how he got his big break? He seems to have a padded file of success stories, one after another. How did he do it?

@OP Perhaps he got tired of having towing charges showing up on people's expense reports?

DUI, most of his team is useless anyway, lack of business justification when you're just a slacker.

@d5 From what I heard the people at Canadian software offices were asked to take vehicles, report bugs, and increase drive time, I guess similar to VOCF. The idea was this would increase the amount of data uploaded to the diagnostics server giving them more data on software stability. A colleague said they have vehicle people there who update the IVI software pretty much weekly on a ton of the vehicles so at least they’re getting fresh and usable data.

Was it the DUI someone posted on this site a month back?

My friend at Ford is always picking me up in his latest test vehicle to show me what’s new. I remember when I worked there, people would always sign out the vans on weekends to move sh-t for their family. Nice perk of the job.

The Waterloo office is known to abuse the use of the vehicles.
Driving family members and friends around for hundreds of kilometers on personal travel.

Can’t let people that wrote the software see that ford stole it. It’s very traumatic for them and Ford cares about their feelings. That’s all. It’s like buying food and not eating it in front of others who aren’t eating. We are trying to be mindful and be kind as part of our Ford OS Behaviors
