ISG Has already started layoffs in Ireland.
A gentle reminder to use your vacation time. The 1:1 organization update meeting request will be coming out next week. Good luck.
@sr actually they happen at pretty much the same time every time so it’s not hard to extrapolate. Also you would(maybe wouldn’t) be surprised at what managers let slip
Like anyone who has actual knowledge of a coming WFR would actually be posting on here! lol 😂
@ap+1k0q65yjw :
"Telecom under ISG :
It could also reflect poor performance or misalignment under its current leadership, or a desire to align with ISG’s AI and telco edge compute strategy. "
Absolutely Yes. It is poor performance of the VP product and his Sr.Dir.
Both have no clue how to do product management. They should have been held accountable 5 yrs ago, as soon as they failed.
They just sat twiddling their thumbs and made millions while failing and laying off the low level grunts.
August 4.
mid level manager here in isg... can confirm we have been asked to give names of several people from each support team. the coming weeks are going to be interesting.
@h1 cound be next month
@b8 Indeed, PS lost people in July. I can personally attest to that.
@hx and there's the loophole right there.
Will these be on the traditional dates of the start of Q3? If so then August 4 and last day Aug 8. Please sign me up!
WARN doesn't apply is you pay severance
@hn that's my point. We arent going to see 8-10% layoffs in august because we would've seen a WARN. Laying off 8-10% in 10 weeks is not the same as laying off that much in just august. I think everyone knows we are cutting way more than that over the next few months so don't pull my di-k over that much being gone next all month
@g2
No because dell will find some loophole like laying off 10% over 10 weeks or something like that.
@gc 80k will be in the next 1.5 to 2 years.. right?
80K is goal. Percentage is not important.
Dell will keep layoff employees until it hits goal.
If it was 8-10% wouldn't there be a WARN??
8-10%, now we're talking. Especially if it's back to back months August and September.
Volunteers should account for a large portion, Fall is a great time of year to enjoy the outdoors - Enjoy!
@e0 you should see our accommodations in Hopkinton....
These buildings are an absolute eyesore. Can Dell please invest in literally anything in the Domain? If I have to badge into these godforsaken Round Rock boxes one more time, I might just projectile vomit in the parking lot.
@b8 Most likely, even the upgrades of PowerFlex are being moved away from PS and will now be done by the RPS team, god help them
Sounds like a reasonable strategy.
If this is true (not saying it isn’t) really curious stuff to keep the strategy the exact same as last year!
Once we trim the fat, say 7 1/2%… I heard they were going to upgrade to 2-ply and throw in a new Kuerig.
@a8 Why would you be afraid to talk to your manager? Worried he might then NOT put you on the list?
Yes they'll do it in a heartbeat. Microsoft is already doing it with the Pentagon.
https://www.fdd.org/analysis/2025/07/16/the-pentagon-has-given-china-access-to-its-systems-for-over-a-decade/
I heard 88% of the toilet cleaners and 55% of JC’s T-shirts.
@b1 dell I s just waiting for existing fed contracts to expire, then they'll gut the entire fed space.
PS just lost some folks two weeks ago, but I imagine we'll lose more in august, too. Typically lockstep with ISG...
25-30% is the number I have been hearing in ISG.
Interesting... Why is it ALWYAS ISG, CSG, and sales groups that get sla-ghtered time and time again? I'm honestly curious as I've been with the company for about 8 years now and can count on one hand the number of people let go in my org... Which is IT based.
Then again, I'm in the Fed department so i wonder if that has anything to do with it?
Telecom TSB should have been shuttered 5 yrs ago. It failed and they gave it another chance and the PdM leader failed even more spectacularly than the previous one.
Here’s what I’m hearing from various corners — some of it confirmed by chatter, some inferred from the patterns:
Corporate Strategy & CSG Leadership Shakeup
• Corporate Strategy: Multiple reports of key people either leaving or being moved. Some were longtime insiders seen as close to the top, so their departure or repositioning is raising eyebrows. Could indicate a larger shift in M&A focus, AI pivots, or internal politics shaking out.
• CSG (Client Solutions Group):
• There’s talk of VP and SVP-level exits or reassignment. Some sales and product orgs are rumored to be consolidating.
• Leadership in CSG appears to be in flux — some see this as a response to declining PC margins and channel conflict, others think it’s preparation for more AI-optimized edge/endpoint strategies.
Telecom Under ISG?
• Yes — that’s a big one.
The rumor is that Telecom is being moved under ISG (Infrastructure Solutions Group). That would be a major structural change, possibly indicating:
• Dell repositioning Telecom as more of a data center/infrastructure play than an endpoint or services one.
• It could also reflect poor performance or misalignment under its current leadership, or a desire to align with ISG’s AI and telco edge compute strategy.
• This move could disrupt a lot of relationships and potentially centralize control and budget authority under ISG.
Morale & Fear of Reorgs
• People across CSG and Strategy orgs are on edge — especially after the Tell Dell results leaked and exec silence continued.
• There’s fear this shakeup is not about growth, but about trimming fat, ki-ling redundancy, and prepping for another round of cuts.
• Some employees are interpreting these moves as a signal that Dell is about to go lean and centralize control, especially around AI and services.
@ac
Easy peasy for Dell, they excel at it.
Really, in one month? Even after all the cuts? This seems operationally impossible.
I know the VxBlock is a mature product, but the outsourcing of support is pretty much done to Capgemini... I wonder what the customers think
CSG and Corp strategy major leadership shakenup. Telecom to move under ISG.
i can confirm. the list is long.
How do I get on the list? I’m scared to ask my manager.
