Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

My management is lost and is without direction.

They know the team is going to lose ~25%. The truth is that we're already too small and lack experience. Too many knowledgeable people took the package and left the last time around.

My management is now purposely setting small goals to make sure they're all accomplishable to make us all look good.

It was said that we'll never catch up with the competition, but let's sustain and have a backup plan once we get layoff notices. My team and other teams are all operating in this way. We're all just expecting to fail and get let go sometime in the future.

I myself am lacking experience and also feel lost. There's really no one to guide me, and some of the foreign senior contractors are not very inspiring, but then it's not their job to be inspiring.

I learned about this forum because so many people come here to get their news and daily updates. We learned about layoffs here before it was announced internally.

I'm looking for another job myself, as I'm just a junior here and won't get much of a package. Not many jobs out there at the moment.

OP has produced yet another vaguely worded Manager Troll attempt.

I hate to say this, but it almost sounds like your project and team are not that important. I wish you and everyone well though!

That sounds like a no win situation. You could hit the reset button and get a new career. The trades are all way short of help and the money is good.

There is no management that is skilled. Name 1. They are stupid long timers who have somehow survived through their managers incompetence or nepotism . This is a domino effect

@a8 My direct manager is also a junior and has limited experience. Senior management seems to be so lost that the projects and end goals are continually changing. I heard that they came up with an idea to just keep us busy.

They layoffs of 2016 set intel two years behind schedule. Layoffs starting 2023 have decimated intel. Managers don't understand how all the old far$$ts they let go took tribal knowledge they can't replace.
