It's just another pump and dump strategy by wallstreet and hedge funds to unload their position

'Intel's 18A process currently performs at a level between TSMC's most advanced process and its predecessor, Sassine Ghazi, CEO of Synopsys, said in an interview after its financial results.'

Not good enough for the big boys.

The real question is whether or not any of the tests pass. Of course, the cost needs to be less too or it isn't worth changing vendors.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Sa7MH1zLEYU TSMC will invest more on their own fabs in the US. What does this mean for Intel fabs?

This is just a try before you buy backup plan. Nothing new here. Intel can make half baked chips for Nvidia and Broadcom at the end so they can copy their secret designs for future products. Please update when you have actual stable products in hands to review or on sale. That could be waited until 2030 at least.

@a8, the news comes out now due to tariffs hitting this week

@a8 Do you really wonder that, though? Do you think the why behind your “insight” holds some secret truth about the Universe?

Or do you, by trying to think for longer than 2 seconds (warning: don’t hurt yourself), maybe realize that companies manipulate narratives about their performance out self-interest to optimize share price…ya know, since their fiduciary responsibility is to shareholders…

I wonder why this news comes out now instead of when at least one of the two companies release positive test results.

Building advanced AI chips is a matter of national security. Nvidia designs AI chips and makes a lot of money having them built in psuedo-China. Intel needs cash. Intel builds chips in the United States.

Hmmmmmmmmmmm…something’s gotta give.

This is really old news. Anyone working on the fab side knows this testing is going on for years
