Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Google Layoffs

This may be a roadmap for Intel employees. Google’s RIF focused on those refusing to RTO or unhappy are being shown the door. “Do no harm”

If TSMC and Tom Caufield get ahold of Foundry you'll see some mass layoffs.

Like Google, Meta, Amazon and Microsoft, Intel is automating worker performance (may be a new Workday feature, which is why they are all implementing it at the same time).

This is leading to endless rounds of layoffs as these companies discover who is working and who is wasting company time, and also how productive they are when they are working.

TSMC of course is another level of scrutiny, and has zero tolerance for slackers.

Expect to be asked, 'what is it exactly that you say you do here' by someone (or an AI agent) named Bob, very soon.

And the job market for tech just keeps getting worse...

2 of the areas being impacted are Android and Chrome, I would expect to see a rise in security related issues for these products since they will likely dump the experienced senior people who cost the most and have the in depth knowledge of these complex products. Bean counter decision making in full swing.

Well said. Eric Schmidt consults pentagon with latest high tech ki-ling machines. Military grade drones. I believe the company is called white stork. These people disgust me now

"Do no harm". So historically quaint in an industry that administers harm by the neverending truck load. I used to love being an engineer. Now I'm retired and find the entire industry to be completely sickening. But it does mirror modern America quite well.

Hmmmm..
"However, only employees based in the US who are directly reporting to the division's VP, Rick Osterloh, can leave voluntarily with a severance package"

Only US employees. Who woulda guessed.. HC would be an interesting thing to watch in the quarterly reports.
