I was in a rut at Ford. Not unhappy enough to leave, not happy enough to stay. I was basically stuck. Then I hit a wall and realized I couldn't do it anymore. The day I walked out, I felt lighter than I had in years. My new role has its own problems, but I don't dread Monday mornings anymore. It comes down to whether you put life before work or the other way around.

Ford lost a good deal of credibility when they stopped making the Escape and Edge. Edge drivers do not want a Bronco.
Oh yeah the Escape. The vehicle that was selling like hot cakes and they decided to stop. They really have to stop listening to these outside consultants.
@a7 Honestly, last year was a bit over-the-top with those tariff sales, especially with high interest rates and MSRP prices not helping us out at all. Didn't we also have the Escape moving this time last year? That's a pretty big gap.
That's right..all they know is layoffs when it comes to "solutions".
@OP. Good for you! But don't worry, soon all the rest of your coworkers at FMC will be following your steps. Just not on their own volition.
I see many triumphalist emails and announcements at Ford, trying to obscure the truth, but just take a hard look at the numbers, even after being "massaged" by Sherry House. YoY sales are down 14.4%, after 4 months of declining sales. Add the price of gas to the high MSRP of trucks, and it doesn't seem is going to improve soon.
The company acquired a massive debt to chase the BEV dream, and the economics are not that great. Ford stock is reflecting that. So what passes as "leadership" at Ford is running the only recipe they know: layoffs. Sooner or later, we all be finding another job...
