What is concerning is if Hemsley can't see through candyman's B$ ; we will know the company's fate. Give him 6 months. On another note, speck check wanted to change 'candyman' to 'handyman'. A handy here, a handy there.
Who can take tomorrow
Dip it in a dream
Separate the sorrow and collect up all the cream
The Handy Man
The Handy Man can
The Handy Man can 'cause he mixes it with love and makes the world taste good
And the world tastes good 'cause the Handy Man thinks it should

He's really leaning into villain mode. Constantly threatening jobs with AI and offshoring and being narcissistic about fancy brands now. Ugh.

MMW, AI will not solve any of the real problems they set out to solve. Even if there are somehow true AI believers (the technically illiterate) in leadership, it's is ultimately a front. We're all just getting replaced by people in India.

It's good for simple problems, not the overly complex processes at this company and in healthcare that need actual effort to fix. Good luck getting an Indian contractor to fix that when they stop working the moment they run into anything that goes off script and just follow the prompt/guidance they're given by their manager to a T. Because they don't care about American healthcare or making anything better.

You know, the kind of thing this company was supposed to be for? That pitch we were all sold? Integrity, Compassion, etc. etc.

@a7 Candy’s contempt for UHG is evident. He used “tik tok” as in time ticking for non AI executives. He did the same for captive datacenter. He struggles to comprehend the existing IT and business landscape and tries to insult his way out.

AI has a huge footprint, it consumes a vast amount of energy. And, I will assume they can solve the cooling problem. Not to mention the water used in chip manufacturing - Taiwan TSMC read about it.

The ‘cheap’ will end but not until companies are dependent on it …

Next is the geo-political aspect, the potential war between Israel and Iran could pose problems for India - I encourage you to read up on this too. Lots at play here - add in it a bit on currency/hedging and too much dependence on offshore being cheap because of exchange rates and purchase price parity.

I hope given the bashing the stock has received this company will put together a leadership team that can think longer term. The stock drop wiped out over $200 billion in market value and it’s stuck in the $300 range …. Meaning institutional investors are holding hoping the same as I am.

If not … we will all be out looking for another job.

Good old boy laughing our way to oblivion. Only reason we exists is to migrate critical knowledge and process to AI. AI…. bla bla bla…. All hail AI, we will drive profits through elimination of humans. Rest of us humans will need to pursue “relentless pursuit of perfection” to oblivion.
