@k3

Didnt he call China Canada's "biggest security threat" a few months ago? Lining themselves up with China now makes sense? Double speak Carney....acting like a Carney.

@a6

Carney is a weak minded fool of an international banker. He knows what side his bread is buttered on and its not the one of the Canadian people.

@c7

You are usually the d*mbest B@astard on here. However, I will agree with you only on one point that the Canadian market is a pittance. Either way, a Chinese automaker foothold to the north (when they already have one in the south) isn't a good thing. Model e won't save $hit buddy. They haven't even begun to turn things around. The only thing they improve on is having to dig out of a deeper financial hole year over year. Losses just keep getting bigger - but it somehow isn't their fault.

@OP

LOL...they can hate the US all they want but they just signed a deal with the devil. Their un-elected (appointed) primer has sold their souls. At least in the US you might have someone that is unpopular with the rest of the world...but at least he makes no bones about looking out for the people that put him there. 2 extremes I guess, personally, I'd rather be on the side of someone who is at least trying to protect domestic markets and jobs. The world has sold out to communist price fixing and market manipulation for too long. But lets make the person that bows at the feet of an adversary out to be some kind of forward thinking person. ok

Canada is a small insignificant market. Plus once the true and new Model e products area available to the masses, these low margin uninspired Chinese BEV's will not hold customers interest.

Pity Canada can't trust the US to be a reliable trading partner anymore; maybe Carney wouldn't be forced to make deals with China and elsewhere to diversify trade.

It's true that cold weather reduces EV range and charging speed due to slower battery chemistry and the energy needed for cabin heating, but modern EVs handle winter well with features like heat pumps and preheating, making them viable even in cold climates; owners simply need to plan for 10-40% less range and utilize features like heated seats to maintain performance.
