Verbally Abusive Leadership in VGS

Any one else's senior director started using increasing profanity on joint team calls, and openly degrading others as 'failures' in front of 20+ folks? The level of unprofessionalism if out of hand since Dan's webcast few weeks back.

On the upper levels it’s how we mostly talk to eachother. Especially, on the sales team side and upper leadership. F bombs and being told what the bleep are you doing are pretty common the higher up you get. It’s never bothered me too much. I never liked the culture here for a long time anyway. If you really want to see disfunction and a toxic culture work your way up the ladder. Your feelings don’t matter too much here.

Is it true Shankar got the boot too? What a disaster VGS is. What kind of sick company puts a bunch of groups together with the full intent to offshore all of them and leave people in fear for years?

Single handedly the worst position in Verizon is as an Indian female on a GTS call. The levels of disrespect and hierarchy dominance is toxic. No one dares to do anything because we will be reassigned and our positions cheapened.

@a6 Yes - I’m so tired of VZ people telling me “I’m a leader” without any comprehension of what that entails!

Worked several years in VGS, and the toxic leadership was unbelievable. So many egos from outside telecom that come in, sow discord, then leave. I nearly quit, but luckily moved to VCG and it has been fantastic. They have other leadership issues, but at least they treat people with some respect.

@a6 never witness that in VCG.
Atleast people are not rude

This happens in other depts, too, unfortunately. Experienced it in Verizon Business - Directors telling Sr manager ICs they are incompetent failures. This was king before Dan was in the picture.

The reality is that the people we have in leadership positions are so epically incapable of actual leadership that they are contributing to the demise of the company in a rapid way.

I have never had less respect for people "above" me in all my life

I am no longer part of GTS now but I did witness managers verbally bullying others.

I still work with GTS teams.. I still see GTS manager verbally abusing other developers on the call. I have told this to my leaders but they do not care since GTS culture is not their problem.
Basic Human dignity is not part of GTS or VGS..
Why Shankar and Vivek are still allowed to survive is beyond me?
