I’m pretty anxious about the upcoming layoffs. Especially if they are before the new year. My wife and I are expecting a baby soon and are heavily reliant on our insurance currently. Insert panic here.

As long as a good percentage of the RTO bootlickers get swept up, it'll be a net positive.
Less self-proclaimed activity monitors and less impotent whining, about the strong-willed among us who are able to work independently, produce strong and consistent results, and don't rely on brown nosing to maintain employment. What a net positive for the enterprise
I'm looking forward to it. As you gather your belongings on your way out of your dear office building for the last time, be certain I will laugh. A big, side-splitting, tears-down-the-face laugh.
@bg+1k8v5f6yz health coverage is provided for the same number of weeks as your severance, capped at 35 for band 6 and below.
@OP, Verizon is no longer the company where you can find job security in a growing company. You will be faced with RIF's every 6 months. Starting a family here in Verizon is not a wise one. Start looking for a new employer; one that values their employees. Yeah, it su-ks but you have a child and spouse that you need to support and long careers here at Verizon will be a thing of the past.
@OP usually you'll get a decent severance package which will include health insurance for 6-12 months. Praying you get that if your unfortunate enough to be cut.
@az Dan said it in the webcast today.
Well, never underestimate the nutritional value of cat food. Really; it's actually quite delicious too! Ask me how I know!
Why not people get impacted tell Trump government that citizens are losing jobs as these guys are shifting our jobs to India? I wish if there is a website we all can report this.
I go by they/them and am more productive working from home than at the office. I’ll show up for a photo shoot in the red chair or for the vz dj party. Proud to be vz where my identity is all that matters!
@ax where did you see the quote?
@ax that's not true
CEO said "no doubt will involve layoffs"
@ap seriously, why do you care? You obviously don’t work for Verizon if you’re asking that question.
@ak what’s VGS?
VGS long term plan does have engineering going to India. All part of the fit to win plan!
Send em all back to where they came from....asap...no more stolen jobs by non-citizens.
any position that can be done by AI is being considered
@ad where did you get that info? All these people on here making bold statements but nobody wants to give idea of their role and how they got their “info”
The wireless network engineering teams will be cut to skeleton and contracted out as needed.
@a8 we are always getting cut and outsourced. We are already a skeleton crew as is.
@a6 what engineering? There are many.
@cn+1k8rsgz6w incorrect. The number of weeks of covered insurance is the number of weeks of your paid severance. However, you can continue COBRA coverage after that at your cost for up to a total combined of 18 months, assuming you don't find another job with benefits right away. Not sure how those costs would compare to the ACA, especially given the current state of the subsidies.
@a6 You're correct. Engineering is going to get cut hard and outsourced.
@a6 I'm in the retail space and I am stressing out myself
@a3 engineering
I believe coverage is 6 months VZ covered cobra no matter# weeks severance paid
What department are you in?
You should be fine. You’ll receive continued coverage equal to the number of weeks in your severance. In the meantime, look for a new gig
Buckle up buttercup
