Working at Truist often feels less like being part of a team and more like being dropped straight into the Hunger Games. Colleagues are positioned as competitors rather than collaborators, and every day becomes a test of endurance where management and peers alike seem focused on outmaneuvering, undercutting, or suffocating your progress. The company’s glossy slogans about “Purpose” and “Care” ring hollow—just polished propaganda masking a reality where employees quickly learn those words are for external image, not internal practice.

Human Resources, rather than acting as a neutral protector of fairness, feels more like another arm of the Capitol—perfectly aligned with leadership, but not with the people actually fighting in the arena. Meanwhile, Truist quietly disengages from its most loyal workers, even as Bill Rogers and the executives enrich themselves exorbitantly. With each new round of lavish bonuses and raises at the top, it becomes clearer: the sacrifices of employees are little more than the currency funding Bill Rogers and the executives. In this version of the Games, survival means accepting that the system isn’t broken—it was designed this way.

Truist isn’t a good place to work. Constant attacks wear on ppl and age them dramatically. There is someone in wealth that was always attractive and put together and now looks like an old witch that was put through a meat grinder.

Truist’s reputation as an employer has become increasingly difficult to ignore, and unfortunately, much of it skews negative. Competitor employees often bring up Truist’s reputation unprompted, citing credible sources that only reinforce the perception. The company’s consistently low Glassdoor ratings—lower than nearly every peer institution—are not a fluke but rather a reflection of deeper, systemic issues that leadership has failed to address. What might once have been dismissed as rumor or coincidence now paints a troubling picture of an organization struggling to protect, let alone enhance, its standing as a workplace.

@OP When I first started, my initial impression was that those around me were apathetic and poorly managed. I brought a spark to the group to reignite their pride and honor. I slowly realized that they hate that with a passion and as I learned more about the history of the department, they eradicate anyone who they view as "better" than them regardless if the target even thinks that way. I asked to be moved to another location because my immediate colleague was a dishonest sociopath.

I started again at the new location with better results, at first. I had several instances where my manager would flat out lie and not just in "motivational" ways but fraudulent ways. This behavior, lack of integrity, and lack of character went all the way up the ladder. I witnessed a certain VP try to setup employees and frame them for crimes.
CRIMES! All manufactured, all fabricated. I hoped MOE would catch him doing this, put him where he was trying to send others.

My manager was caught and removed. Things got better and my team was able to achieve with more energy and efficiency than when we had a manager. After this, the VP toned down his corruption.

Then came the pandemic. Mostly everyone was sent to WFH, and I was at my location alone for the most part. I focused on my role and expanding my skill set. Earning more industry certifications then anyone on my team, including management. I routinely tripled the output of those on my "team".

Once this became apparent, in comes the corrupt VP. Along with the "Team Lead", the frame ups began again. Again, I hoped my work performance would speak for itself, along with my relationships with those I supported. There is only so much one can do against a deluge of lies. Those who know the truth didn't rise, most joined the darkness only to be let go anyways. That's when I realized this merger was doomed and hBBT was going to be destroyed.

I can continue with my experience if there's interest, I am sure other teammates have their own horror stories and complete mockery of all stated values and meaning that this place has become.
