Thread regarding Fiserv Inc. layoffs

I'm still not over it

I was laid off in the last round, with no real explanation. My manager said I was a top performer, my skills matched the project, and the work was still going strong. I was also the only one cut on my team. Make it make sense, please, because it's been driving me crazy ever since.

Be thankful for that. Hopefully you got severance. There were many of us made into Contractors, no severance, no 401k match, higher insurance costs. I would have rather been laid off at this point.

They might want to ki-l your product. Your success if interfering with their plans to make your product fail.

Banks aren't going to pay extra for a termination penalty if the product is good. Fiserv needs to make its products worse, so the customer is incentivized to pay more to leave Fiserv. By controlling the rate at which customers leave, Fiserv can create the illusion of growth.

If you were a top performer there is no better time than the present to put that statement to the test. Start working for yourself and see if you can be a top performer for yourself instead of this garbage company :)

@a6 correct they would keep the bad performers on forever the company is nothing but fraudulent and leadership is just trash. Some are not I remember they demoted the vp of sales even though she was doing a whole bunch of stuff and her numbers beat all the other vps. They let her go and the whole department went to sh-t.

I have to disagree with the pay statements. I was in the exact same situation but was the lowest paid on the team... even after 20+ yrs with the company! Also had some medical issues occur that probably contributed, but shouldn't have. Asked 3 times why I was being laid off and was only told "you just happened to end up on the list". No other reason was given, although, I know what happened. New VP was padding his/her bonus for making certain numbers and/or didn't like me because I was pushing too hard for comp fairness.

Managers play nice with you and it is salary related. Look who makes the most in your team, that person is the next target.

I agree 100% with the first commenter - your high performance was most likely tied to your income BUT it could've also been tied to your age. Whatever the "reason", it was NOT tied to your performance. Fiserv is a broken company with deficient "leadership" so chalk it up to them doing you the biggest favor by letting you go.

Your top performance most likely was linked to your income. That alone makes you a higher target for layoff. Younger, less experienced and working for less are driving fiserv clients to other cores.
