Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Tired

just tired from constant reorganizations, mega layoffs, and a leadership team that doesnt seem to know where it's headed. They are wingging this. the company’s moving, but without a map... And the teams are the ones left scrambling to make sense of it. Morale is shaky, non existent... not dramatic, just quietly depleted. There’s this slow erosion happening, every single day.... Folks're watching good collegues walk out the door, and they starting to question whether the Intel they joined is even the same company anymore.... what really gets me, though, is the sadness under it all. Not loud or angry, just this quiet disappointment that the place they believed in, the one that used to lead with confidence and build the future, is now kind of stuck in its own fog. Fu-k all of this. Fu-k it...

Definitely not a great place to work anymore, its just a paycheck. I will miss working with quite a few great people. Like many. I wish I took the package before the board retired Pat.

"they starting to question whether the Intel they joined is even the same company anymore.... "

OP, what exactly has to happen to prove to you that the company is nothing like it used to be? At this point it isn't even relevant how or why it got here. Leave that for the business school case studies. If you need this job or any job to exist than you should be focused on an exit plan. If you are close to retirement ride it out. The job market is exceptionally brutal to older people. If you just got here you have more options.

I understand and sympathize with how you feel. You have time and energy invested in your career at Intel. Consider Intel a bad investment. At some point you need to cut your losses and stop throwing good money after bad. Just write off the losses. You need to do the same with your career at Intel. Figure out what you want to do, take control of what you can control, and start working toward that next stage in your life. Continue to do enough to survive at Intel but don't consider Intel to be your career end goal. Focus energy on a plan to get out. The good days at Intel are long gone and the future is not going to be bring it back. Move on.

So sad that endless trolling about mental health is taking a toll on the Mental Health Troll, yet somehow fitting.

No, Intel is not the same. It has declined rapidly. It is a sad sequence of events but predictably happened at the arrogance of the leadership. The employees are sadly taking the brunt.
