@1xj Sounds like you feel entitled to your job just because you’ve been around for a long time.
A long time that also coincides with Intel going to sh-t.
I’ll bet $100 cash that your job is actually worthless to Intel’s goals, and you’re actually easily replaceable, but you’ve kept from being fired because you’re great at su-king the di-ks of your superiors and pretending your job matters and can’t be done by a cardboard cutout.
The people that always claim things should be a meritocracy tend to be the people who have absolutely no skills or value.
@1xj You sound like someone badly in need of reality giving you a serious karma slap.
@1xj You act as if all the layoff decisions are fair and merit based, good God wake up already. Incompetence and cronyism ki-led this sh-t long back and Intel is slowly bleeding out. You think you survived cuz of skill? It's either luck or a-s kissing because these managers su-k so much a-s they can't see anyone's skills through all that sh-t.
@kz Im just to watch all the snowfl flakes melt in the heat of compilation. I have a great job. My job is secured and I don't feel threatened by anyone coming for my job at intel. I have been in this industry for 25 years starting at age 18 and have consistently moved up and survived dozens of layoffs over the years because I provide valuable labor to this industry. No imports legal or not are replacing. ITLt sounds like a you problem if you feel your job is threatened. That's entitlement. YOU are not owed less competition for your job. DO BETTER. Make yourself indispensable.
I served. Theres good ones, and theres bad ones... Some of the bravest, and some of the laziest. We owe the good ones
@jn I’m entitled? I’m not the one that’s claiming that I deserve a job and special treatment. Just because you couldn’t get a real job and had to ask the government for a fake one doesn’t mean you deserve special reverence or respect. You’re just another lazy socialist that feels entitled to benefits despite being a net drain on everyone.
Our fabs run like sh-t because they’re full of technicians and managers that don’t know how to do anything except salute and pull their puds. If we had an actual technical exam for technicians it might help weed out more lazy moochers, but the fact that Intel gets DEI points for hiring veterans means that they’ll always prefer the unqualified crayon eater in a Grunt Style shirt over someone that can actually do the job.
Out of the 195 countries in the world, there are only 10 that offer an OPT like program. Which is about 5% of the world. I like how the bill is worded. It doesnt mean there won't be foreign born workers, it only means foreign born recent college graduates don't just get mainlined to our workforce.
Here is a summary of the bill:
https://www.billtrack50.com/billdetail/1876850
Fairness for High-Skilled Americans Act of 2025
This bill aims to eliminate the Optional Practical Training (OPT) Program, which currently allows international students on F-1 visas to work in the United States for a period after completing their academic studies. Specifically, the bill would amend the Immigration and Nationality Act to prohibit employment authorization for foreign students who are no longer engaged in full-time study in the United States under the OPT Program. The proposed legislation would effectively end the current practice that permits international students to gain work experience in the U.S. after graduation, and would require an explicit act of Congress to reinstate or create a similar program in the future. The bill's title, "Fairness for High-Skilled Americans Act of 2025," suggests the legislation is intended to prioritize job opportunities for U.S. citizens and potentially reduce employment competition for recently graduated international students. By removing the ability of international students to work temporarily after completing their studies, the bill could significantly impact both international students and U.S. employers who often rely on OPT participants to fill skilled positions.
@j8 Its not top dollar is thier salary is subsidized Sir. I see you are not good at math or critically thinking. You are just another entitled lazy low skill complainer about how other people are the source ofntpur problems. To get hired you interview and take a technical exam. That demonstrates the knowledge their training and experience should indicate. So tell me what your BS degree or Associates shows you how to be a good technician????
@am The actual entitled a--holes that are ruining Intel are all the military veterans we hire in the fabs. Absolutely worthless people with absolutely no skills, but we have to pay them top dollar and accept poor performance because the government gives Intel money for employing these freeloaders. The largest group of worthless DEI hires at Intel are military veterans and it’s not even close.
@am the Taiwanese 😂😂😂
@a6 what? That is just gibberish.
@am
So who is going to run the TSMC fabs in Arizona? You😂
Nothing like an H1B Troll post to get everyone excited, but then that is the purpose.
It riles up the sheeple.
Maybe that is the only thing which should be posted on this site.
Maybe not.
If you feel like you are compewith h1b you su-k at your job.
@am I'd dissagree. Americans feel entitled to a job at a company with no profits. I repeat Zero profits. Make that make sense.
Put America and Americans first. If you disagree you are free to go back to your home country. You came here for a reason and it was probably that this is the best place for you to grow so stop bashing American and Americans.
The entitlement of folks with H1-Bs is worse than the US citizens themselves!?! 😂
Just let your citizens work for foreign countries and create a different bill required Intel to produce stable chips instead.
nobody cares about this bill. It is meaningless.
