Is it possible that WB will merge with Staples? Seems like an obvious synergy .

That ship sailed with Mason. Your former CEO managed to PO the team at Mason and they walked away. Hence, Mason began their acquisitions along the Great Lakes. Mason is taking huge chunks of business from Staples..CCF is one of the them.

WB will never merge or sell to Staples. And you are right they have kept their identity and their strategy and holding their own.
Years ago, it was said that Staples will watch WB die a slow death. Today, WB is a much healthier company who never lost their identity. What is Staples? Every other year, a new tagline, new name, new management… meanwhile WB is hitting it out of the park.
