Thread regarding Optum layoffs

All Optum Employees 03/06 and 03/07 time to boycott

Colleagues,

The recent raises have fallen short of expectations, and it's clear that the current allocation of resources is not aligned with the value we bring to Optum.

As a united front, we must advocate for fair compensation and a more equitable distribution of resources. I urge all segments of Optum to join together in a peaceful, organized effort to make our voices heard.

Let us demonstrate our commitment to this cause by participating in a coordinated, non-confrontational "No Work" action. This will be an ongoing effort throughout the year, until meaningful changes are made.

Additionally, I encourage everyone to provide honest feedback on upcoming surveys, reflecting our true experiences and concerns.

Together, we can bring about positive change and ensure that our hard work and dedication are valued and recognized.

Share this message with your colleagues and let's unite for a common cause.

Boycott is meaningless if it is not intended to lead to collective bargaining.

Nah this won't work.

However, let's take this comment party to Glassdoor. If they want good talent to join, make them work for it.

I’ve already been riffed so who cares if I don’t show up one day. They don’t care. This won’t change a thing, sadly.

Why do anything when we will all be replaced by India anyway?

So your plan is to demonstrate your value by not doing anything. Wish you’d applied the same logic to posting here.

I am already doing some no work action, by taking more time to do my work and taking a few extra breaks during my work day. That is the only way I can "get back" at them it seems.

These are the same raises Optum had given for 10 years at least. Go back on this site and read.....you won't change it and your idea is not new. Go find another job because this place is never going to change.

You know who needs to be held?

Babies.

But after reading your missive I would add you. You are pretty pathetic. You want to "not work" like some spoiled child when what a human with any sorts of skills and abilities would just find a job that's better.

I can almost guarantee you you're already overpaid in your line of work otherwise anyone with even the most primitive reasoning would find a higher paying job at a competitor or another company.

So really what's your excuse? (YOU ARE LAZY AND ENTITLED)

Anyone that follows your d-mb advice is going to get fired. Start acting like an adult before it's too late.

Everyone does understand why the raises and if you got a bonus were pretty bad. I am always surprised how siloed everyone is. Not many understand when the company is bleeding money thru every orifice they have well the next earning call is just a couple of weeks or months away and than they have the proxy meeting with the shareholders who don’t care about you or anything other than how much money UHG is making. So get a pen and paper and find out just how much they have really lost. Millions 190 on Change, 65 million for one fraud case, another 69 million for the 401 k lawsuit, all the fines they have paid for violations cause they don’t behave, dummy codes etc. and the business they lost and all the members and pharmacy money, all the new regulatory changes . And it’s not over . Navi health lawsuits , risk adjustment scores investigations . So u thought u get a raise and a bonus. Be happy if you got one.

Surveys are not 100% anonymous. I’ll be careful on what you say. But if you were rated a 2, on a PIP or a CAP, likely you are on the line. This is your time to file for an Internal Dispute Review and be honest on the survey.

You know we are not a part of a union, right? This will hasten the work being sent to India or any vendor. If you are not happy and can leave, leave. Dragging people with you, not helpful. I know they are one of the worst but not all can put their jobs in further jeopardy.
