So Cal directors in care management were sadly impacted.
Can you name the directors let go today? If you don’t want to, I understand. Thank you. I work in So Cal and heard nothing of this.
Non-clinical empty suit Directors of Ops are mostly a waste in the SoCal region. Several of them were never seen in offices at all. I was glad when ours ended up taking a job out of state at a different company. No loss. They can’t layoff more clinical staff because it is already skeleton crew. Docs and nurses are living in a hellscape.
To the post below it keeps the scale and areas information some what available. I think both know Unh does everything possible to keep layoffs hidden in the media and across the board. There are definite levels to urgency in whether some one would be looking to leave and when. Also in gives some insight to how things are internally going for any prospective employees. I would say this industry across the major 4 insurers has never been worse for american employees. Certainly within yhe 15yrs I have been here. No longer are you giving up pay for security in a low growth low margin sector like health insurance. Sad to see but it is reality
There have been significant impacts... might not be directly on some of your teams. But some have had significant reductions across the enterprise.
I sometimes struggle with gossip forums like this. I know the intentions are good sometimes and folks are concerned about their colleagues. But what good does this information serve beforehand? If you wish you could know before hand so you can "get ready" or update your resume... then just do that to free your mind and feel prepared for whatever the winds of corporate change brings. If you want to know so you can support your friends and colleagues, if they need you they will reach out to you.

PQRS just had announcement of layoffs, unsure how many people but I wasn’t thinking about this happening to begin with. Very shocking. We all work all over from home but some are in the Midwest. They’re being very hush hush about who was let go and asked us not to talk about it with each other.
