I was considered as a high quality performer as evidenced by my historical accomplishments and documented in my performance reviews . In one of many organizational restructuring in late 2025, was moved under a new management line composed of a number of outside hires. The moved was for me to help drive momentum to deliver on key objectives that were lagging behind.
This year’s performance review done by new management hire, who did not really know who I was. The text in the review did not have any reference to my accomplishments in 2025 prior to this group since my previous manager already left.
This made me an easy target, another number to meet quotas.
News of my leaving was met with a lot of good messages from people I worked directly with and some who I did not know I impacted.
This is the moment I realized what defined me is not my rating or performance review but how I impacted the people I worked with.
This is the feedback that means more to me.
