Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Guys, the NDA project is not actually that big of a deal

Ya'll need to calm tf down about it.

You can find out all the info you want via chatgpt and/or various comments on this site about it but, at most ISG, CSG and ISR's are the major people who need to start looking for new jobs. Everyone else is fine lol. Basically if you are in sales, or run apps... I'd polish up your resume because at some point, your neck will likely be on the chopping block...

CHILL TF OUT!

@jy
This IF the automated system works. Which is not the case for any of Dell internal tools and databases, which still require loads of work from Ops and inputs from Sales teams.
And these "sales", as of today, are ISRs, since most AEs (especially the ones who didn't evolve from ISR) don't know a sh-t about processes, often they've never even opened DSA, submitted a special pricing request or seen how a Premier page looks like.
But, as usual, there's a big gap between ELT's wishful thinking and real life.

@b3 You're right. I don't know what the acronyms mean but ISG and CSG sure do get sla-ghtered during the big layoffs time and time again...

I DO KNOW that ISR is "inside sales reps" and Dell has already done quite a bit of work over there in regards to restructuring and condensing roles/getting rid of roles all together. They introduced a "customer friendly" system in which customers/partners don't really need ISR's anymore.

Dell is, as usual, very late to the party in regards to AI lmfao. Dell is partnered with Nvidia yes but, unless you are talking about Dell's direct competitors such as HP and Lenovo; I'd bet that HP is far ahead of the AI implementation than Dell is.

Realistically, 99% of back office jobs will be replaced by AI in the next few years - for any company. HR isn't far behind, either. Nor are lawyers to be completely honest lol. Minus litigation lawyers anyways..

As for sales? From what I've read the plan is to make it in which a customer - not consumers like you and I - to login to a portal, fill out forms and select what types of services/systems they require. Then get an automated quote and AI chat will negotiate with them if necessary. Essentially like you are I "shopping around" for xyz on various websites and stores. Who has the best deal?

INTERNAL sales will be a thing of the past sooner than later. EXTERNAL sales is a different story.

what you write makes no sense
"ISG, CSG and ISR's"

ISG is org
CSG is org
ISR's is not an org

ISG is entire datacenter - that is AI and all else

CSG is laptops

so you say all be gone - entire dell - but same time 'chill'

You clearly have very little idea even what the names are

AI is taking over a lot of back office jobs in entire industry and dell aims to be first one to get there - and sales be last one to see the change as risk of revenue lose is just too great.

but that's 101 on running business ... revenue and margins

They need to part ways with all those managers that sit in the corner by JM RR3. Talk about a waste of space. 6 hours watching YouTube, 1 hour of talking really loud, and 1 power hour of micromanagement.
