Usually, companies that require RTO are ones that are doing very well, either in terms of stock price, or salaries and perks, or both. All the big-name companies that require RTO have excellent stock price forecasts, and all the mid-to-small companies that are still private offer perks to make it enticing for employees to come to work.
Intel, unfortunately, does not offer anything to employees beyond free coffee and soda (and that too, after a lot of complaining), and expecting employees to RTO is going to backfire on LBT badly. Those who have a choice will leave to work somewhere else, and those who don't (financial obligations, family, visa, whatever), will come to work and feel resentful. Even if silent attrition is LBT's goal, the folks who need to stay will not give their 100%, so the company is doomed.
I have to believe that LBT cares for his reputation - he is already rich enough that more money is not going to make any appreciable difference. If he thinks himself to be the white knight that saves Intel because of RTO, he might need to take another look in the mirror.
@d8 because US workers are some of the laziest re--rds you can find around the world. Hence why their jobs keep getting offshored to Mexico, India, and other cheaper countries.
@d8 because in the US we do not care about the company. We have seen enough injustice to give back any loyalty. We are done except for the few bootlickers
Can you explain to me, without trying to criticize anyone , why is it that in the USA, RTO is not working, while in Bangalore, Haifa ,Ireland it's working okay?
@OP STFU
Kinda hard to give a sh-t when so many around you are still loosing their jobs
With every person being let go, the remaining must add 72 hours of work to their schedule every week. Arbeit macht frei - eat ze bugs and work till you die.
Is not the RTO failing…. Is that everyone is leaving, or being let go. Those in office today are the ones left…
@a5 they wish. More like everyone is sweating bankruptcy. To all of the people let go between August 24 and the end of 24 how many of you have burned through your severance? 401k withdrawals with a penalty are next and maybe even second mortgages if you are lucky. New jobs will be minimum wage.
Everyone is busy interviewing for jobs.
RTO 😂😂
Assume that RTO is failing... the more of you who decide to quietly go back to WFH will ensure I survive the next round of layoffs... oh wait I just blew my strategy... oh wait I am an Intel employee that makes sense. D-mb f-cks, find a new job or career field.
