I wish I was joking. At least I know the outcome now.

@jg This "fact" doesn't check out, at least if you are talking about IT.
Every search I've done shows that in Pune, for example, technology pay is roughly 30% of UK pay ( and about 22% pay in Houston, let alone actual tech hubs in the US ).
If you aren't talking IT, then I retract my criticism.
@xn Exactly.. They worked hard and long with an understanding and a promise and then betrayed so easy. Its happening to all of us... Doesnt matter how hard you worked, how good of a job you did, you are easy replaced by person in India for cheaper.. Nice people and I dont blame them (as I train my replacement currently) but I do the Company. Sc--wing over US and UK economies that helped build this company
They make a very valid point about being betrayed by the current leadership team and board
@cc the way these retirees brigade every bp post on LinkedIn with their boring and repetitive narrative and victimization doesn’t buy any supporters. They come off as annoying and it’s hard to empathize with their struggle. I just wish they’d get over it and enjoy the rest of their lives on something productive. No shade no tea.
@qd this has been ongoing in the US for over 25 years.
I am not sure what competitive position BP has once it has laid off most staff in its centers of excellence and replaced them with staff trying to follow a BP proces.
Beyond the questionable business experiment, I am surprised this is politically allowed by the UK and USA governments
Salaries are more or less same between India and UK but India has no pension burden, easy layoff regulations, low cost of operations which makes it better positioned !
Rich UK retirees. Sad. Shameless. Greedy. The folks posting are so rich and lack so much purpose in life. Only care about their pounds. They plead welfare while sitting in their Aston Martins and free healthcare. bp could post about curing cancer and the retirees will say “What about me, bp, broken promises”. Brits man.
stop making things up.
A lot of risk and lost talent for a hair cut
You'd be surprised to find out that the difference between London and Pune is not that big, like 40%
And between London and Bangalore, is it like 20%
And it is closing.
What percentage pay cut was offered?
