Americas Webcast Fun

This longer post is very critical as I almost vomited during the americas webcast. Executive LT were making jokes, laughing and having playful attitudes during the session. No sombre or sober moods at all. GC said this new strategy was in play a year ago...going to be a multi-year plan so further changes and people reductions uncertainties in '26 & '27. Quotes from my notes: "we are doing a lot as opposed to too little", "will be a long journey", " the elepant in the room - we all make mistakes but cant have all the blame at the top", "time to get behind the new strategy, get on board or get out", "fours years ago is behind us", "dont agree we arent taking accountability - we care". Main points were focus, execute and deliver; I think these are the new chants for the cheerleaders. I have been with this company 20+ years and have never felt so disgusted , let down and deceived before....

I was VERY honest in my survey that was the worst TH ever the laugher and lighthearted spirit of it was completely tone deaf to the rest of us. Let's face it they HAVE jobs most of us won't - we know it and we are worried. Read the room people!

@et+1jnhsr5b7 Perhaps that was part of her interview.

“What on earth was it about her that impressed him?” Hmm. I wonder if undressing was part of the selection process.

OA was trying to speak up for GC and his boss, CH. His comments were condescending and it showed his lack of leadership. GC and CH are big girls and they should have spoken up since they were the target of the questions. Again, lack of leadership. CH is OA's boss and she should have responded and smoothed over OA's comments. No leadership, no empathy and no emotional intelligence. That sums up our leadership. For those in the US, did you get a feedback form from the TH. Good opportunity to tell them exactly what we think of them.

Presume the comments and questions online were also not visible to see neither which is now a new norm ?? the internal webcast was the same after markets day announcement, thousands of people loosing jobs / at risk and jokes being made with the live audience at SJ all lapping it up with roars of laughter !

@a5+1jnhsr5b7 she's responsible for the awful strategy, not the employees. She is a BL appointment, and a prime example of the mess he left behind. What on earth was it about her that impressed him? Her and HL are ex-McKinsey and neither is a good advert for that consultancy. Trying to apportion any of the blame on employees for the strategy doesn’t make sense. It's like a corporate version of "a big boy did it and ran away". As if morale wasn't bad enough.

That webcast was revolting. Completely bad optics. Don't want all the blame to cast upon them? Then who steered the ship into the sandbank? The employees? Also, I disagree - they set the strategy, and failed. They get the blame. If there is such a thing as accountability at the senior level, someone needs to go. You don't get to do this to a company and laugh it off. Your bonus is at the highest percentage of your base pay, and you are accountable. Sorry guys - this wasn't fair for you. I would guess the morale of the employees has sunken to a new low.

If they’re not to blame who is? I don’t recall being asked to comment on the strategy.

GC should be the first to GTFO since she was head of that dismal strategy.

"...we all make mistakes but cant have all the blame at the top". Err...why can't we have all the blame at the top because that is where the rank incompetence is, with particular reference to GC. How much further does the company have to sink before the Chairman, the Board and the LT are dumped. I doubt if GC can even spell 'strategy', let alone formulate one.
