Thread regarding Citigroup Inc. / Citibank / Citi layoffs

Awesome….just freak’n awesome. I do have to thank you Citi, you helped me prioritize.

Ranked a 2/2.
Raise: 1K
Bonus: 1%

Certainly NOT worth the effort put in to get that 2/2 and it certainly sets the pace for 2025. Work just hard enough to keep from getting fired while I look elsewhere.
I foresee in my future my meeting attendance waning down to 1/2 that I can assure you as well as my daily hours. Not to worry Citi, you’ll get exactly what you paid for and definitely nothing more, I promise you that. On that, I give you my word.

Post ID: @OP+1jk1310ht OP Your experience is the same as that of the thousands, maybe 99% of the 232,000 $hittybank TroyCiti employees.

You are Not alone. Getting FVCKED OVER by $hittybank because of Low or Zero salary increases, Low or Zero Bonuses, No-Seat Promotions (1% only according to media reports), reduced benefits (401k/Pensions, medical, etc.) sow the seeds for Anger, Resentment, Bad Blood, Distrust, Hate, you name it......and turn employees into Tojan Horses who do the bare minimum work and effort, and do Not give $hittybank their knowledge, solutions and skills.

Just like other employees, I rejoice and laugh whenever $hittybank adds to its vast collection of Consent Orders, MRIAs and MRAs. I revel in Schadenfreude because I do Not offer any help or reply whenever I get emails asking: "Does anyone know the solution/answer to X ?". "Does anyone have a contact name for Y ?" , Other employees in the email thread also do Not reply or offer any help or suggestions.

Let $hittybank and the Inquirers jump through hoops and do the work after giving us Dog$hit Bread Crumbs salary increases and bonuses! These MotherFvckers may eventually figure out the solutions or find the answers, but let them to sweat it out and do the Fvcken work after giving us Dog$hit Bread Crumbs salary increases, bonuses, benefits, etc.!!!
Don't make it easy for $hittybank because $hittybank is Not making your life and work easy for you even if you Rated 1s and 2s or worked above and beyond the call of duty. Do the Bare Minimum work and effort while you search for a Real Job in a Real Bank or other financial institution.

In fact COO Anand and his minions even had the insouciant, oblivious FVCKEN NERVE to tell employees during Townhalls, "Don't Chase the Money. Stay at $hittybank."!!! As other posters wrote, that's easy for THEM (including MDs / Ds) to say when they're making at least US$500,000 per year Before stock options, bonuses and other perks they do NOT deserve. They FVCKED UP and Still Are FVCKING UP the "bank".

Post ID: @f3+1jk1310ht Just like Bear Stearns, Lehman Brothers, HSBC, Credit Suisse, Dresdner, etc. at one time considered themselves in the upper echelon of banks, $hittybank also exhibits the same Dunning-Kruger Effect. It's a Citi disease.

Definition: The Dunning-Kruger effect is a cognitive bias that causes people to overestimate their abilities or knowledge in a specific area. It's caused by a lack of self-awareness that prevents people from accurately assessing their own skills.

Guess where those oblivious, thought they were Hot $hit "banks" are now??? Defunct, Bankrupt or merged-eaten up by a Real Bank. ROTFLMFAO!

Post ID: @ew+1jk1310ht Everyone and the OP are better off putting in the time, work and effort to get the whole loaf of bread (Not $hittybank Bread Crumbs) at a Real Bank, $hittybank's envied Competitors!

$hittybank is sooooo Green with envy (Just in time for St. Patrick's Day) whenever the Quarterly Townhall Meetings' PowerPoint show graphs and pie charts comparing how and where $hittybank stacks up against JP, BofA, GS, Wells, etc..

This like Former Olympic Figure Skater Tonya Harding seething, angry and salivating while standing next to (Silver & Bronze) medalists Nancy Kerrigan and (Gold) Sarah Hughes. ROTFLMFAOFFLOLOL!

$hittybank can Not even get a $hit Medal, let alone Gold, Silver or Bronze. H3ll even Quasimodo, Wells Fargo Bank is beating $hittybank even with all of Wells' monetary fines and violations of Law.

The OP is just another Trojan Horse created by TroyCiti. ROTFMFAO!

I give Citi credit on thing for sure. They know how to run off people. On that, they are ahead of the game. They’ve got that playbook down. They can run off lower performers, top talent, doesn’t matter, they know how to run you off.

Post ID: @a4+1jk1310ht No thanks $hittybank HR. Why would the OP waste more time, work & effort just to get $hittybank Dogfood, Peanuts snd Bread Crumbs???!!!

You see and hear the OP's sentiments that he got 1s and 2s Ratings but got only a Dog$hit 1% salary increase and 2% bonus!!!
This is insulting and a FVCKEN Slap in the face!

It truly is a.....$HITTYBANK !

Does citi pay enough outside the Us for them to have a middle class lifestyle?

Companies know people do not work hard, especially outside the US. But then again, they also know they do not pay well, especially outside the US.

I think you were complaining of the pro.otion process years ago and how unfair it is. Are you still doing the same job in the same group? You said you were a vp and so keep in mind its very hard to make svp and yes at that level you need a network. Perhaps you maxed out at citi and should make a move...

@cc+1jk1310ht Why hire then programmer analysts at Citi when you think to do with tcs and other consultants? Why are you then wasting talent of employees? And bring their morale and confidence down? It’s a farse

you think TCS or consultants is stepping stone or whatever to hire to make up the work load? hells no. it's a scam... use consultant to do work so that employees don't and not liable to actual work...a farce

@bv+1jk1310ht All were hired as programmer analyst and hired for do the job as described, yet managers only work with TCS, so many left. No one is hired as approver or overseer. Even if they are approver or overseer it never came to them. They felt left out.

Is that because you are now the approver or overseer and tcs is the worker? If so this makes sense

: @b0+1jk1310ht Thank you for pointing out Citi had top talent. Yes, they have, but managers don’t know to utilize top talent. Specially when they work with vendors like TCS they starts kissing —- of contract resources and forget they have employees who are talented to do their job, yet all the technical and architecture discussions would exclude employees and only conducted with TCS folks, this is at USPB and wealth and retail at Irving. Hence, employees started leave to pursue in big techs, because they felt wasted their talent at Citi. Have witnessed many left from my team (employees) they either left to other teams or left the organization. Managers started to convert TCS as employees and promotions were given left and right.

There's no such thing as promotions anymore. It's now "releveling", and has nothing to do with your ratings. You could be a 1/1 for the last 3-4 years straight and about to be promoted, and it has zero impact now.

They only care about "exposure" and a change in role/scope in order to be releveled. You need an expanded role based on nothing measurable, but whatever your manager can come up with to submit as justification; and then your MD/D and their peers have to know who you are, "exposure", or else they'll say who's that, and you won't be releveled.

It's no longer a merit-based system and has gone to a bureaucracy/kiss-a** system where your MD/D's peers have to know who you are, which has zero to do with anything related to your job or performance.

What difference would that make? I’m not the OP but I worked elsewhere, tech, at 60K at that time as a keep the lights on guy, got ranked as middle of the road.
Bonus: 5K
Raise: 3%

Which is higher than the 2/2 rating the OP listed out. Your sentiment is a reflection of the Citi core thought on ranking. I keep reading on this sight the sentiment of:

“Oh, you’re not at least a C13 and don’t make more than 100K, yeah, you deserve what you get. If you were ranked high but get a very small slice of the pie, well you don’t deserve more as again, you’re a mere C12. I mean its pretty obvious.”.

Again, I’ve worked elsewhere, making less but have gotten a much larger bonus\raise at an average ranking. Here at Citi, for this multi billion $ bank, somehow its accepted that its the standard to accept this as “the norm” though. This is why, those who don’t accept it as the norm, you get EXACTLY what the OP listed out. Less effort, less hours and probably moving on elsewhere.

Next you’ll see a mention in TH meetings of drawing top talent and retaining top talent. Citi already has top talent, they just beat them down with a reward of bread crumbs, so they scale back on output.

For this post, the OP, he’s gone, he’s checked out. Whatever it is that they do, they’ll go elsewhere and get paid more for it. The extra hours they may have put in for that 2/2, will not be spent surfing for jobs.

What job level are you? Was your bonus 1% of your salary or 1% increase from last year? How much is your salary?

My bonus dropped from last year. Raise was 2%. I was a 3/3 with one 2 but it averaged to a 3.

Don't get a 4. HR will get involved and that will be the start of the end. 3 is all you need even for promotion. This is all up to the crony system built in and all the fake people that say they help you but won't. They are fake.

all a sham. it's a fixed. ratings mean nothing. Just don't get a 3. if you want a promo, all you have to do is comfy the boss... at least an MD. that's the game. your pride will hurt you. I know from experience.
