Does Verizon Cover Certification Costs

Im considering getting my CCNP, it looks like tuition assistance doesn’t apply. Does anyone know if the company will pay for it?

I’m on a team that rarely changes leadership but I noticed last time they did the new leader prioritized and went to get Sr Director funding to pay for certification material and test vouchers. It was the self learning version but was good for a year and included labs. I took advantage at the time and I did appreciate the push for real training instead of the learning portal that just lets you meet training hour compliance. Old leadership looks at you building knowledge as a threat to ask for more money they won’t offer you or even worse giving you the freedom to get a better job outside the company when you want it instead of when they are ready to let you go

Honestly, it matters who you know rather than what you know in Verizon. Your CCNP won't make a difference.

I am a CCNP and my role does not require it. I asked about it when needed to recert and was declined...ended up paying myself for all training, CML and labs at

I cover for my team. Initial approval over email and then added to your goals. Exam cost reimbursed after you pass and evidence attached. Yours truly, Irving Basra.

Does a message board who's purpose ( and name ) is to discuss layoffs seem like an appropriate place to ask this ?

Yes, potentially. Assuming you haven't been laid off, check the Get Certified pages on Degreed.

It depends on whether it is a required certification or not. If it isn't required it is at the discretion of your leadership. I would ask your manager.
