Pretty sad in all honesty... Do the RR offices need renovation? yeah, they have for decades lol. Are they absolutely NECESSARY? no. Not in the slightest.
Dell is more concerned about spending money on pointless renovations to offices that people are in for less than 3-5 hours/day than they are about... idk, their EMPLOYEES? Is this why promotions have been MIA? Is this why raises have been comical? Is this why travel is STILL restricted? Is this why org budgets are either minimal or none?
I mean, i sure af hope not but am guessing these renovations are why all the above has been paused/pathetic.
Seriously, those who were forced to go in 5 days/week only stick around until lunch anyways... Why go buy sub-par overpriced food at the cafeteria when you can eat for free at home? 75-89% of the people in office are gone by 11-11:30am CST. There is NO incentive to stick around.
They took the free coffee machines away - used to be kuriegs with loads of kcups and/or built in coffee options, they took the gyms away, the onsite medical centers, the milking booths for new mothers, and are half-assing the cafeterias. Which are overpriced for what you get. - Burgers, chicken fingers, quesadillas, custom wraps, pizza, random soups, and then store bought cr-p that they upcharge.
I 100% can guarentee not a single dell employee gives two FUQS about office renovations, though. All we care about is our paycheck and that's it. new chairs/couches/desks, fancy new meeting rooms, and cr-p like that? WE DON'T care! Most people would prefer to be in their living room/office "meeting room" with cr-p all over the floor, and free coffee, and work in their PJ's or whatever lol.
Long story short is that nobody gaf about office renovations except JC and MD... I think the entire company (minus C levels and execs, obviously.. as they are never at risk of being laid off) would prefer to keep their job over cool "modern" offices.....
Bring in some super cool sh-t at least? Vending machines that dispence free sh-t like Apple does, scooters to get around - apple and facebook have these. Bring the gyms back, bring the onsite medical center back, DRASTICALLY improve the cafeterias, improve the wifi, make nice outdoor offices, etc etc etc... GIVE AN INCENTIVE to go and STAY in the office. Nobody gaf about all those empty "meeting rooms" nobody ever uses lol. Nobody cares about the gross hallway couches and chairs.
