“The idea is that if your job can be done at home it can be done by a contractor for cheaper.”

Well, there it is…the d-mbest thing I’ve read all day.

If mgmt truly believes this wild oversimplification, the company is doomed.

@dh If you regularly work less than 6 hours expect to show up on your SVP/VP list for them to explain to their VLC leader why you’re not adhering. The system will take out any workday/time codes for illness, vacation, personal time, jury duty and bereavement. Once you reach five of these days in a quarter you will get an automated response from HR. That system is being tested to start next week. STI/LTI and merit will all be impacted per GNT leadership. The goal is to push out those not adhering to policy with tabulations starting mid September. The idea is that if your job can be done at home it can be done by a contractor for cheaper.

@df You go to appointments on your time, off the clock. Not when you are supposed to be working. Clown!

Don't you all know - the only path to future progress, creativity, and competitiveness is to be found by desperately clinging to the past?

@e3 just shut up and RTO and actually work. No more stealing time on the company dime you slacker. You must be in the office with your team. Now get ready to RTO.

My fingers hurt from all the typing I do about how horrible my life is because I am required by my employer to actually come to work and do a job , I am so stressed how archaic to have to work , I just want a paycheck for doing nothing. I have a family to take care of I can’t be bothered by driving to an office and be expected to do something. There ought to be some kind of law against this . Hard work gets you no where . My generation could have built this country much better from our sofas and beds with our little soft milky white hands.

So if there is a 6 hour rule, and you have an appointment that restricts you to less than 6 hours, does it mean you get zero credit for coming in?

I have to do six useless hours to make sure rich people don't become a little less so. At six hours and one second, I'm heading for the door.

Because an employer excepting an employee to work their entire shift is crazy talk...Haha. Grow Up! Many, many millions of people do work that they actually have to go to a location and physically accomplish tasks.
You get zero sympathy

Just work 9-5 M-F in the office
1 hour for lunch. Has been done for 100 years. Don't be made an example of a WFH freedom fighter. Humour the managers!
