Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

I was a PE

I was a PE at Intel for many years. I was laid off last year and have recently started driving uber after applying for 1000+ jobs. I even moved out of CA to AZ just to get around the cost of living. My wife is not happy but that was the only way.
I wish everyone the best here but the reality is very different once in the job market.

It’s crazy how everything going on and stripped away the bs and exposes things for how they really are. Not the propaganda laced patina finish intel wants us to all buy into

We all know and agree that PE is bullsh-t right. Apply to other places see what they say about intel’s PE title

@j3 no wonder Intel hired you. Kudos on finding the only company that would have hired you after that experience

Plausible, especially if you are older (like 60+). I know, I've been there.

@d2 they must really be jealous or bitter, I agree. Move on PE rager, find something new to hate or better yet get some meds and a fluffy kitten.

Someone really has a thing for PEs, producing one fake troll post after another.

A PE could easily go teach at a university as a minimum. Such a fake post.

If he is 50 or older, it is almost impossible to maintain your same pay/benefits. Some people go on to work as contractors without benefits.

The OP's separation situation is plausible. There are PE's and srPE's that have been/will be laid off from Intel. It is difficult to find a the job market unless you have a precise combination of skills or (interpret how you will) "know" the right people.

The ride share employment... a little less believable but none of us are above working whatever job pays the bills and provides medical insurance. The "I don't get my hands dirty" mentality ungrounds direction and contributed to Intel's current situation.

@a4 Those who think this fake are in for a huge devastating wake up call when it happens to them and they enter the rat race of a job market

@OP - I am sorry and that does su-k. PE is absolutely worthless outside of Intel. It is not respected by any other organization in our industry. PEs should prepare themselves your next role will be a downgrade to the salary, compensation and rank you were used too at Intel if you even lucky enough to find a role in this field again

Thank you for posting this. I’ve long held that people at intel don’t know how good they have it. I think it’s important for them to hear it. You may save some careers

I had a job offer within a week of my last day, because I started applying as soon as my manager gave me the shoulder tap. In the final 3 weeks I only did 45 minutes worth of passdown and all my other time was on the job search.

There's something messed up with your resume or what you're applying to if you're up to 1000 applications and no offers.
