Thread regarding Verizon Communications Inc. layoffs

Isn’t it all about Trust?

Thinking about Dan’s fireside chat on Friday I’ve come to the conclusion it boils down to whether people will trust him or not and if they believe him or not.

Let’s be honest he’s not big on details…so it feels like a leap of faith right now and can people move on from 15000 layoffs and that effectively the same people are in charge as a year ago

Silence doesn’t breed trust and neither do vague prophecies or pronouncements without any substance

Dan is not a rancher. He owns a ranch.

@bv Hey Buddy, You Listen Up Right Here And Right Now!

Dan was a simple cattle rancher on a meager slice of property in Montana that you could barely call a ranch. Salt of the earth kinda guy. He did not ask to be pulled from his isolated podunk ranch in the deep Montana wilderness "wrangled" into this sh-tshow. All that he wanted to do is tend to his cattle in a caring and meaningful way, watch beef prices and sip on a cold PBR after a long grueling day of mending fences and driving cattle.

So now, on top managing and working his simple ranch in the remote wilderness, he's doubling down on his time and saving a defunct global corporation from it's own self-inflicted doom. You might call this man a fake cowboy, but I call him a hero.

I find it hard to trust a man who fakes being a cowboy.

People are amazing saying the like a straight talker? WTF.... the Vz Biard is a huge fail and make no doubt by outting a Board Member as CEO is protects the Board by not introducing change agents.

Put Denny Strigal, former Vz CEO or Elin Musk aquistion and the DEI Board Club would get blown up

sure, trust the person who was on the board watching it all burn to the ground, and then comes in with dynamite to finish the job. As long as they get their multi-millions they could care less how many lives they ruin.

Karma can be a bi--h, hope she shows herself to those worthless pieces of shi$

I suppose none of you would be happy even if you were invited to the board meetings, right. Just complaints. Grow up.

@a3 and we finally got an all hands meeting on Friday, and it was shockingly disappointing. A nothing burger. We just watched Dan ramble for 33 minutes and slurp his coffee

@a3 agreed there was absolutely no communication, and the company handled it extremely poorly. It was a complete sh-t show.

Dan’s straight talking is a good start but the complete absence of leadership and communication for 3-4 weeks was a big mistake prior to the layoffs
