Ireland replacing all Epic positions in the next year

We've recently been told by senior capability leadership we will under go extensive Epic training and certifications to replace the current onshore Epic MPP staff. This appears to inline with other IT offshore initiatives. Apparently, we are the only offshore staff that can have full access to Epic as India/Philippines and other locations have very limited access.

@aw not sure your reason behind insulting workers. It’s really about profits, employees can be replaced no matter the location, skill has nothing to do with it. The US dollar acting as the reserve currency caused a lot of this. The US has to run a trade deficit. As de-dollarization increases offshoring/FX advantages decrease. If they cannot trade in USD then they have to hedge not knowing the true cost as FX fluctuates. In short, employee resources has little to do with it.

@aa Tax haven, yes. And trump tariffs are pi----g off the EU enough to threaten to plug that loophole. Still better workers than americans on average - you're deluding yourself to think otherwise.

@a3 it’s a corporate tax haven, nothing more. My guess is the head quarters will be move as well. Again, it’s not talent or quality of work. Many companies have done this for the corporate tax benefits.

Can confirm. We're moving tons of USA tech roles that aren't offshored/outsourced to IN/PH over to Ireland and UK. Cost is about the same, salaries are about the same, but the consensus is that productivity/quality of work is higher.

So much for Steve's "we're a merican company" message.
