Can someone explain what’s the goal?

Senior ranks full of poorly educated, unprofessional lemming clowns. Rarely met anyone impressive in the entire place....a dump
Here an ex-Senior Manager (Europe, CPG, Marketing), leading a team of 8 FTE, left Dell end of 2024: Never experienced a more lemming-driven culture than at Dell. They talk and act in full management clichés, rarely there are senior guys that really impress, deliver and act as role models/true leaders. Looking at how Dell operates since many years, their strength is in logistics (sourcing, building, shipping) and not in a) innovation b) leadership c) brand/marketing or d) outpacing competition. You can easily carve out management levels - but you do not need to rationalize with AI - just be honest and say "our country club just got smaller" and we we love to improve margins by layoffs, as we are not able to increase margins elsewhere. Michael Dell and his leadership team have layed off now up to 35k people (lots of data hidden, especially Europe) and they honestly do not give a flying f*** about their employees ... You either fully submerge and integrate into the lemming-talk and behavior (focus not on delivery, but keeping things rolling "as is") or you should def stay away. This move has nothing to do with AI optimization and leaner communications, they are just realizing that really smart people either quit at Dell, or never joined and that the lemming hole is widest if you simply arrange 20 lemmings below a senior manager - and lay off the rest or dump them into IC roles. I wanted to short Dell stock so bad, after all the hot-air AI announcements, but then again, Dell shows up in my portfolio every day, no thanks :) Company to avoid big time.
Flattening of the management tree is long overdue.
I have been an IC at EMC then Dell for some time. When I started there were three layers of management between the Chairman’s office and me. After the merger one would have assumed a layer would have been added as the figurehead of EMC would now report to MD.
Instead, right now there are six layers of management between MD and me. Up until last week it was even more complicated because, due to a political turf war, my boss reported to two people who had separate reporting trees.
We don’t need all these layers of unqualified managers who could be replaced by common sense organization,… or AI.
Prepping for Nvidia merger.
Nvidia runs flat management. Michael is enthralled with Jensen so he is copying the model.
The goal is to squeeze every last cent of short term profits as they possibly can right before all the higher ups jump ship.
Such a copilot is good only if you're flying a su----e bomber.
why do constant reorgs, constant wfrs, hybrid changes, then 5 day change, now 20 minimum span, regional low cost workers, block useful software.
why? attrition.. and a potential sale to Teshler, Nvidia, etc
Leadership asked Microsoft Copilot and it said it was a good thing so here we are.
Faster Decision-Making: Decisions can be made more quickly because there are fewer layers to navigate.
Improved Communication: Clearer communication lines can lead to better understanding and coordination.
Increased Employee Empowerment: Employees may feel more valued and engaged when they have more autonomy.
Flexibility and Agility: Flat structures can be more adaptable to changing circumstances.
Cost Savings: There are fewer middle management positions to pay, potentially saving the company money.
