Thread regarding Shell Oil layoffs

you should be ASHAMED if you run woodcreek campus

holy cow.

i thought the missing vending machines posts were a joke. you should be ashamed if you removed food and drinks and slapped up a sign that says it saves energy.

you should be ashamed that none of your ev chargers work. you should be ashamed that none of your monitors is our disgusting open concept zero privacy dynamic desks work. you should be ashamed at shrinking cafe hours and saying it’s to “better serve us”. you should be ashamed at having only one way in and out of multiple building towers and the rest roped off. you should be ashamed that lights don’t come on or stay in large areas of all floors. what is wrong with you? why are you such cheap skates?

have you no shame woodcreek decision makers? i hope i never meet you, i am truly repulsed. you call for RTO and can’t handle things like lights parking and food. you better be the next cuts.

@1b4 Someone at a higher pay level, with planning responsibility over STCH, should have lost a job over how that was done.

@1b2

I was at west hollow until last year

it is truly incredible that they halted construction halfway done, closing the cafeteria forever as a result, and have proceeded to literally serve bowls of “daily special” under the stairs in an office building

it’s so absurd

My goodness. Come on over the Westhollow. We are eating out of a vending machine. No other options.

After reading all the comments, it appears that my decision to take the COVID-19 buyout was the correct! Just incredible what I’m reading.

Also, don't forget that Woodcreek RE paid someone to count all the different substrates we might encounter on our treacherous walks so that they could make a TV ad about the dangers of walking around the campus. If I recall there are 78, but if you want to watch the slide, it will play in a cafe on your floor everyday this week, and has for the last X months. Unbelievable.

Also, don't forget to hold the handrail while walking to your RE organized bocce ball event or karaoke in the kitchen event. If we had external visitors in F building on any of these dates in 2025 I am pretty sure our credibility as SOV operator evaporated... doesn't anyone else worry about these kinds of non-verbal messages we send up?

Don't forget to remember the time that IT replaced all the perfectly fine monitors with single panels in the name of CO2 reduction.... if you have 2 panels now, its because someone complained for your team. This is what happens when you give ridiculous GPA targets to teams without foresight. "Let's trade efficiency of 1000's for our small team GPA goals, and call it success...."

Don't forget, we cut snack and drink vending machines in 2024, waste baskets in 2025 and fountain beverages in 2026. Pretty soon, you can cook your own lunch in the F building, but still pay a ridiculous price for the ingredients - while RE staff play on their phones in F building all afternoon.

I heard that the cutting of the fountain drinks was an attempt to increase revenues to mitigate yet another price increase on food. Maybe we move to allow door dash to drop food in F building and mothball the entire food service, since it isn't competitive or good anyway.

FYI, I believe food and beverage in London and Hague are still subsidized and relatively inexpensive, but someone else can confirm that. Just saying...

Cafeteria has been average lately since 2025. Scones are never the ones I want (where are the chocolate chip ones). Pizza slices are more expensive. The sandwich counter isn't what it used to be. Sandwiches dont taste the same. Only good thing is the Indian food that happens every other Wednesday.

Nothing like some smarmy, smiling corporate-speak type telling you cutbacks are being done for efficiency, game changing innovation and your benefit. Where’s the airsickness bag?

This is what it’s come to, a company that’s a “shell” of its former self (excuse the funny.) This is what happens when the board nominates a visionless leader like this current CEO. He’s a joke of a leader. Even BVB was more of a decent person than this clown. He’s come in and stripped the businesses of its people and dignity for what? To kiss the as--s of the shareholders? I’m a shareholder no more. The stock su-ks and has su-ked for years. Dropping $3-4B a qtr on buy backs and it still stuck in neutral. Genius, simply genius. The board better wise up before this joke of a CEO sinks the whole battleship for his ego and fat paycheck (getting fatter each year, BTW!). I remember when this company was the shining star of energy companies people were proud to work for. Now it’s become nothing but a bunch of greedy upper management yea who's looking for the next group or business to cut to line their already fat pockets. Damn it’s a shame. 😡

@ez

the lights are dim as he-l when they do come on and there is currently only one way and in and out of my new building due to construction.

are these HSE issues or not? don’t we need two ways in and out for fire compliance and the ability to see without wiggling to tick the lights back on? this is absurd.

@ea the HSE team tests the fire alarms on occasional Friday’s and a couple fire alarms a year.

@dk yes agreed! Good lord wtf is the point of an HSE team for an office building. Just sad. Outsource RE to a property management company. With such lack luster amenities anyway, there’s no reason to have that org in-house. There aren’t any transferable skills into or coming out of that org that would justify keeping it in house either. Time to start cutting actual costs like RE function instead of selling off revenue streams. Also, I’m sick of hearing people in shell medical talking about how much shell “cares” about us too. FFS care? Biggest line of BS we’ve been able to spin. Is “corporate gaslighting” a thing?

I’m here for it, grabbing my popcorn on 21st floor, IYKYK. Behind IDT , RE is 2nd worst run org in Shell. Objectively poor decision after poor decision, inept unskilled PowerPoint rangers with feckless leaders throughout.
