@bj agreed and Sam Hammock has done nothing to address it for years. The pain points have been completely ignored while she focused on photoshoots, dj parties, and smug tone deaf linkedin posts. The arrogance to talk about culture OS when people are exhausted from endless reorgs and reductions is insane. And the posts about joining Verizon while we are in a hiring freeze is stupidity defined. Dan must clean house.

Dan says that we need to be a leaner organization, and I fully and wholeheartedly agree. There are many ICs like myself who are working hard but suffocating under layers of "people leaders" who seem to see their job as just "managing people" and not contributing any other value to the corporation.

We have too many layers of management at Verizon which is not necessary and absolutely insane. Take a look at the org charts, there are Senior Managers reporting to other Senior Managers, Associate Directors reporting to other Associate Directors, Senior Directors reporting to other Senior Directors, SVPs reporting to other SVPs, etc.

I know I can get a lot more done if I did not have to deal with so many layers of management above me. When I make a mistake, I have 8 different bosses email/slack me to tell me about it. That's my only real motivation is not to be hassled; that, and the fear of losing my job. But you know, Dan, that will only make someone work just hard enough not to get fired.

Funny, never hear about AI and outsourcing of CEOs roles/responsibilities. Would AI have purchased Yahoo and AOL 30 years after their peak? No don't think so....but here we are waiting for heads to roll because they need to 'cut costs'.

Remove unwanted SVPs, VPs, and AVPs and reduce cost and bureaucracy. They keep coming up with stupid ideas and deadlines and people to work like donkeys. Keep saying yes to offshoring the work. Shankar is the biggest culprit for offshoring.. get rid off that guy..
