I am considering quitting - been at Ford for almost five years. I don't like the 4 day RTO policy, but it's not even the main reason I am strongly thinking about quitting. It's the job itself; the horrendous leadership and toxic culture. The things I've been experiencing over the last six months are almost unreal. My LL6 left and that made things much worse as he was one of the very, very few decent ones. The job market is tough, but I don't live check to check, I have no major debt, and can do fine for a long time. Why do I want to keep subjecting myself to this kind of environment? This company is in serious deep trouble the way it operates. I've got 25 years of experience having also worked at other companies (including Toyota as a consultant) and I've never seen something like this before. It's a true house of cards.
This thread is a mess 😂 and enlightening... Now I know why percepta has people coming in to check our day to day "rigor" (insert je-king motion here)
People get in super early to secure a desk and then leave super early too. No one cares to do a good job because the way they are being treated. Sure, I can quit but why. I rather leave on my own terms than being forced to. I’ll wait until the next shoe drops.
Improved rigor….
I just sp-t out my coffee. Thanks for the laugh.
The only improvement in rigor is due to rigamortus due to everyone’s lack of motivation
The people I know that quit because of RTO are the ones that were coming into the office as directed. But they still got threatening emails because the HR trackers aren't getting correct badge data. There are people taking selfies in the building every day just to prove they were there. Who wants to work for a place that treats people like that?
@at are you smoking "CRACK"? If you want to talk about profitability start with changing the BOD and senior management. Because they have not demonstrated they know what they are doing. Sick and tired of hearing about Doug I change jobs every 3 yrs Fields. He has been here since the fall of 21 quality continues to fall and FNV4 Took boy wander over three years to figure it was not going to work. I wander if he did something worthwhile what his bonus would be. Right now that company is living on borrowed time. no improvement to quality, vehicles over priced, continue focus on TVM vs quality. and now you do test to employees. Well you should start at the top. because they set the vision and plan. So far it has been a disaster and Wall Street and the Press refuse to question them. So dump the stock if you have any the dividend is paid for by money in their piggy bank and look at the debt!!!! it keeps going up.
2 people in my team already left, mostly due to RTO. At least in this aspect, Ford will achieve this self-goal of pi----g off employees.
What do the metrics say about morale and employee job satisfaction?
RTO3 and now RTO 5 have been very successful from the metrics I have heard. Employee engagement is at levels not seen in 5 years. Attendance is record setting. All of this will translate into improved rigor and bottom line profitability of the company. Do your part.
@a2 Ford doers not need trash like you. You remind people of Niedermeyer from Animal house. deposed of by his own troops in Vietnam. Going into the Office is not going to solve the morale and culture issues of the toxic culture Senior management created.
I dont understand their end goal here. Sure you save on layoffs by getting employees to quit but that isn't going to help with quality and remaining employees are miserable and doing even more work. Management keeps saying "what would you do pre covid" but I had an assigned desk pre covid next to my team and our meetings were in person. The way we work has evolved and where we work should evolve as well. I like chatting with my teammates in person, but we aren't seated near each other and our meetings are still remote because we have global team members. The current model is not sustainable but our very valid concerns are ignored and we're being treated like 5 year olds who dont want to put on pants and not professionals working at a top tier company who just want to do our jobs in an effective environment.
Good! If you are too lazy to even show up for your job, then you don’t deserve to have it.
I love to see people quit their job because of RTO. You all should quit before you get fired.
Go find another job somewhere else, Ford don't need you anyway.
