Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

I wonder if HR/managers/VPs actually creep on this site lol

It's a very interesting and entertaining site to say the least however, I take everything said here with a grain of salt. Seems like MOST posts/comments are made by bitter EX dell employees just trying to stir the pot but, every so often the rumors here do come true.

I'd be super curious to know if any of them do because, I feel at this point nobody at Dell trusts, believes, or respects upper management anymore. Well, nobody really "respects" upper management anyways although my execs in my org - at least one of them - is pretty damn transparent and says what they can (with legal approval of course!)

We do, and are in the same boat as you are. Many of us still think it won't happen to them, then it does. The boat differs in the fact we get a few more benefits. Some even lose their employees, but get to stay on the books for up to six months. Take a look at some managers who are gone, but are still in the Dell directory... that said its not worth watching friends of 20+ years get surprised when they get the tap on the shoulder. Best of luck.

of course they do. Michael Dell is one of them too, he cant take any criticism and has a lot of these comments removed. Sad! Wish we had a leader that can innovate!

If they do, what the heck can they do about the situation? Most of them have mortgage debt, personal debt, kids, car payments etc. They are sitting back and waiting for the hammer to fall.

The only responses i've seen from people is quiet quitting and everything that goes with it.

I've been around IT for a while. I have never seen a span of layoffs last so long. I think the reason that they are continuous is that it is a sign of deep systemic and strategic issues. DUHHH. YOU THINK!!

Where do you think those random pro-RTO comments come from?

mine is in the upper 90s but it does not matter as some of that is relationships but that is exactly what we need to be doing.. dell does not exist.. dell is best interest of share holder.. the concept of dell is down to the individual team and telling the harsh reality.. Dell pays well, Dell is a great place to get experience.. but if you want safety, assurance.. and want to make your own way, go start your own company. Live for the day in a large publically traded company knowing that some things are out of your control.. get a second source of income, figure out a way to get passive income.. work on that.

So, from my perspective I don’t agree.
I’m legacy EMC, sr Director, ISG, in Engineering.
I care deeply for my team, and have been reprimanded in the past for putting my team ahead of popular opinion.
I have and I always will.

My statement to my team over the years is … we succeed as a team, we fail as a team. There is no blame only retrospective and learn, move on.

What was my eNPS? 84.
Believe me or not, don’t care.

My team is my first and only responsibility.

I truly enjoy my job.
Is it getting harder? Yes, but we adapt.

@a2 Well duh lol... I'd hope they don't come here on the VPN... But I do hope they come here to see how and why their prescious Tell Dell results were one of the worst in history.

@OP

Of course they do; they come here and share information. They just don't do it from the corporate VPN.
