This week there were widespread layoffs across the Design and UX organisation in multiple regions. Some people, including directors, were let go with very little notice. Communication was virtually non-existent. Just a mess, with people finding out through Teams messages. Not sure of the exact number, but it was a significant hit. Honestly, it feels like nobody really cares.

Design / UX - that sounds like bigger bullsh-t than even risk management / data governance / etc. 😄. Thanks to 20 years of money printing big corporations filled up with mo--ns, su-king money for zero added value. Good they kicked out some of the dead weight.
@a2 I believe the goal is to shift more fte and contractor talent to core / cheaper locations (some non-US locationsfor contractors), convert some contractors to fte in those locations (because it's cheaper on both sides of that coin), and shift to remaining contractor agencies approved by the FIT initiative. I don't believe it's being outsourced, and I agree with you, in-house here is wiser.
Doesn't surprise me with this org, the leader boasts a sense of team but when it comes to practicing what they preach, reality is quite disappointing.
Yeah not sure if it was the same but in finance the notice was same day. Access was cut off the day after.
You’re absolutely correct. Nobody does care 🤷♂️ Despite all of the corporate jargon being pumped out, along the lines of “people are our greatest asset”, you will be discarded like used gum to save a few bucks.
Is the goal to outsource UI / UX design to a vendor? It is helpful having in house design for presentation and standardization. Interesting move if true.
