Thread regarding Canon Inc. layoffs

Working Conditions...

It's not bad enough that the work load has changed with work getting outsourced out of the country, the morale is awful, micro-managing is at an all - time high, people are just depressed and miserable, let's add to that the fact that the Commerce Square location (NJ) has now decided the AC doesn't need to run all day and when it does, it's barely noticeable. . This is so helpful when the weather is over a 100 degrees outside.. People are feeling sick, headaches, fatigue etc.. Don't complain about it though.. Maybe we all should just be happy that while they don't regulate the AC for extreme heat temperatures, they have upgraded the lighting system which now is so incredibly bright that you are left with no choice but to squint throughout the whole workday, again making people feel very uncomfortable while trying to work..This just makes the workday so much more pleasant to deal with.. .Like previous posters have said, just bring on the layoffs... AND before anyone chimes in with the "ohhh just do your job, stop complaining, these are FACTS..

@OP Just say no. And Sammy Boy: don't whine about profits not meeting your expectations. Your One Canon restructuring has tanked the company's morale and productivity. You have no one to blame except your sociopathic self. YOU OWN IT, Sociopath Sammy.

Sweatshop mentality. If someone dies due to heat exhaustion, Canon can and will be held criminally liable. Imagine Sammy wearing handcuffs and doing a perp walk.

He is ki-ling the company... literally.

Just shows you they don’t care about their employees! Hello Canon Directors/facilities, how about throwing a bone when the air conditioner is broken and it is 105 outside! Allow your employees to work from home! If it was a blizzard you would have allowed it!

I work out of the Burlington, NJ location and can confirm the AC breaks every friggin’ day, not just during this week’s heat wave, but any day the temperature gets above 75 outside. You can always hear people walking on the roof trying to ‘fix’ it. Their HVAC people are as effective as the company’s management. I better wear a football helmet to the office in case one of these LED light fixtures falls from the ceiling, you can’t trust anything in there. I almost got electrocuted plugging a charger into an outlet, faulty electric wiring probably. They have also had plumbing issues in the bathroom previously. The building is the absolute ghetto. OSHA needs to shut the place down and penalize the company with severe fines.

@a2 Now it makes sense... this is why the parking lot is pretty much empty anymore... People can't take it, they probably wake up and just decide they need to take mental health days because it's unbearable..

OMG!!! Just when you thought that place couldn’t get any worse! The fact that the temp in the office is close to 80 when it’s 100 outside? and the new bright lights that have workers walk around with shades and sun visors on to make it bareable is unbelievable! What is the plan here Canon? It’s like a torture chamber….. misery…. How much more are workers supposed to take
