Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Is it true that notifications will be completed by the end of June?

I’ve heard the rumor, but it’s hard to believe they could wrap it up that quickly. Still, I’d prefer that over a prolonged period of uncertainty.

@bd Yes, many managers will be travelling to meet the remote teams as a final farewell tour. After the tour; it'll be a Teams virtual meeting to announce the bad news in the coming weeks.

Announcements will be completed before the middle of June. That will give 6 weeks to employees before they leave by the end of July. Lists were finalized and sent to HR last Friday. Decisions are finalized already There are no more delays due to discussions or decision making.

Our manager mentioned that there’ll be staff meetings tomorrow where personnel decisions will be made. I assume layoffs will be announced shortly after and finalized by the EOM.

Do not leave intel. We are going to make it big from next year. INTC will be double digit gain and rewarding bonus. Find 5 things to believe from PG's list.

Leaving Intel will be the best decision ever, whether it’s theirs or yours. Living in constant fear of job security, toxic environment, backstabbing co-workers and managers, etc etc is no way to live. Free yourself and move on!

There seems to be a lot of confusion over warm. Employers are normally required to give 60 days notice with some exceptions before laying someone off. However, severance is regarded the same as notice. An employer can pay you severance instead of notice and that is normally how this works.

Most likely based off everything I’ve heard management at different levels suggest. Less reliable indicators suggest internal decisions are being finalized this week with communications beginning as early as next. This may be different depending on if a project is getting axed or if it’s just downsizing a team. I wouldn’t go make a big investment for a few months regardless

@a2 if they give you 60 days severance it is also meeting the WARN requirements.
