For newer rounds of layoffs/RIFs, will they give advanced notice or do you get told and let go same day? Also, are they still paying out PTO to folks laid off or just severance alone? Is the severance any good?

So is that why our schedule that is made for us is only made two weeks at a time?
"Most require they payout 40 hours."
If you live in a state that still has $7.25 min wage, workers rights for you are sh-t, so you won't get paid out. The more liberal your state, the safer you are.
CA requires full PTO payout....I have over 260 hours......now just lay me off already.
the notice depends on your state. for example NJ has a rule that they must give the employee 90 day notice which is why you’ll see some employees get 90 days. they can and have cut people the same day
What I've seen is that you're officially given two weeks where you are still on the payroll, but all your access is removed immediately so there's nothing for you to do. Basically a spontaneous two week paid vacation.
@a2 thanks!
They usually give 2 weeks notice. PTO payout is based on your states laws. Most require they payout 40 hours. Severance is based on pay grade and length of time with the company. You can find this info on sparq.
