Thread regarding Dell Inc. layoffs

Does Michael Dell know?

I’ve been thinking this over the past few days. Does Michael dell actually know how badly his RTO is being implemented.

My manager openly tells me that this is a sh-tshow, but does he say the same to his manager or does he tell his manager what he wants to hear that it’s all going smoothly.

We have such a massive hierarchy of managers that by the time Michael Dell receives information on how the new rollout of RTO is going it has probably been diluted down significantly to something like, “It’s going perfectly well” and then that’s it, back to the golf course.

The reality is of course a sh-tshow, and I mean that in every sense of the word

To those fat cats we're just a cheesy-under-fo-----n substance. They can't care less about what you think or feel.

The Billionaires Buds have had a long standing relationship. I’m remembering this post back from 2022 before the horrible rebranding of Twitter.

“Win or lose, respect to @elonmusk for being the man in the arena,’ Dell tweeted, along with a picture that contained a portion of the speech.

“Thanks Michael,” the Tesla and SpaceX founder replied.

For context and reference, “The Man in the Arena,” was a speech by U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt that encourages those who blaze trails to ignore the cynics.

Some food for thought…

He could be navigating the open ocean or coastal cruising in his yacht. I don’t think he’s real concerned for any of you landlubbers. The New Yorker reported last year on the hidden world of yacht-borne power meetings. The vessels let the rich and powerful talk freely and make connections away from the prying eyes and scrutiny of the media.

Nobody at the top gives a rats a$$ about you. They want you so demoralized that you'll just quit. You can be sure MD & JC are fully aware of site capacity but it's a big Lone Star State F. U. to everybody.

I’m sure he knows and I’m sure he doesn’t care. I don’t think he’s that ignorant about site capacity. The strategy is to sabotage morale and get people to quit. You don’t pay severance if people quit.

Executives just focus on pleasing their shareholders and expect everyone else to focus on solving their own problems. I don’t understand why people are so focused on trying to impressing their higher ups. It’s a one way street.

MD doesn't care. Do not try to lessen his responsibility in this by way of ignorance.
this was done deliberately and with prejudice.
He hasnt been relevant in over 10y.

most of dells management are not impressive people. they talk out of both sides of their mouths. yes to upstairs and try to gin favour downstairs by blaming those upstairs.

During the wrap of the Operation Desert Storm some military analyst think that the Iraqi army did so poorly is that the generals lied to Hussein about the training and readiness of the troops. Yes, the Iraqis had some elite and wall trained fighters but the majority were poorly equipped with obsolete we-pons that they were barely trained on.

Are directors VPs and others lying to MD?

He and the other “leaders” won’t care.
The whole point is to make it as difficult for people as they can.

Squeeze them in, make it uncomfortable by having higher expenses with a new commute, extra $ for gas, or however you need to get to an office.

They want you out, so you have 2 options.

  1. Ride the storm if you are satisfied with your life at Dell
  1. Find another role that meets you needs.

Not everyone will get a termination $, so take that into account.

Not sure which is worse to be honest. That management is so spineless they won’t tell him….or that he does know and does not care. Either way we are sc--wed

My city does not have enough desks to accommodate 5 days in the office for everyone so hybrids are to continue doing 3 days & remotes stay home. No chance facilities will be able to lease more levels & then spend big coin renovating the floor space. Therefore nothing changes. Slow clap for MD.
