They opened a massive GCC offshore location in Chennai, India today. I heard from.Sr. VP that they are going to systematically start replacing American jobs with offshore starting starting next quarter as part of cost cutting. This company is doomed if executives think offshoring is the solution to all their problems.
My advise is start looking for other jobs while you are still ahead, especially if you are in IT/engineering roles, tech support and remote roles.

Fresher has to be the worst Indianism.
@OP Sandeep Dadlani will fill his coffers with the savings from letting American Workers GO!! To hire his countrymen, Calling all US engineers... Watch out, its coming!!!!
@d2 It is not bad for freshers.
@OP Thanks Optum for the welcome kits! Excited to be here.
Yeah most (if not all) product design jobs that show up these days are India based. Not a mystery at all.
@a1 Collectively the offshore teams are the most incompetent groups I’ve worked with. It’s like Optum hired random people off the street.
@OP not only offshore, don’t you feel onshore is also taken by tons of clowns from same place? You have 70% offshore, and then 30% of onshore are from offshore too.
Go to check this bill out and see what you need to do. https://www.congress.gov/bill/119th-congress/senate-bill/2495
A Global Capability Centre (GCC) is a company-owned offshore hub set up by multinational corporations to deliver critical business, technology, engineering, and digital services from another country.
@OP What is a GCC?
Offshore people on my team have had tasks in their name for over 5 months and the offshore manager just keeps on hiring clowns with no experience and claiming theyre all full up on work, despite delivering absolutely nothing. Lots of copy pasted AI slop too
@OP yeap, LinkedIn is full of posts lately. We need a full stack developer urgently on our team, already have 3 offshore and 0 onshore and I was told we can only hire in India. It's impossible to get anything done as they are only available till 11 am CST and the quality of work is terrible. They are all fresh out of college with zero real world experience. Offshore directors are hiring folks without consulting onshore architects and engineering. This company is turning into a ghetto, utter lack of quality and terrible unqualified people in senior positions making horrible decisions. This company is indeed doomed.
