Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Looks like the fires are going to burn forever

I was working here for 6 years putting out fires in the background. Then this last year I was working remote from 8 to 7 almost everyday covering for folks I care about and getting the work done that was needed. For me to come back and get laid off. I hope the fires consume this company. They don't care about work ethics all they care about is a butt in a seat. It's a tragedy for me to see the company I care so much for doesnt care about it self. But it's cool hope the replacement can do one of the 5 jobs I do

@cb I’m someone else, but you have no idea what someone’s hours are.. it’s a global company with a huge huge percentage of shift workers. People also have breaks. Yeah there are high and low performers in remote or onsite work. But which is more likely to be visible, felt, and spread to others? I would lean towards onsite as a general rule. Just a thought thought that probably has plenty of exceptions.

@c7 your on this site in the middle of the work day so you obviously don’t do much either. Not everyone who works remotely is a slacker and everyone who works in the office isn’t a top performer. There’s a mix in both environments.

I'm pretty sure their 11hr WFH workday was actually just their dream while taking a nap while WFH.

I heard of a coworker laid off, only possible reason is because of remote status. This person would’ve passed any performance review or skills matrix for the job. Total shame.

@a1 for being remote. I was told work ethic was great but because you are not scanning a badge every day you are useless
