The layoff packet mentioned performance and/or skills being the reason for being laid off. Only 350 were laid off... do you think it was performance based? I got a incon/met rating one year, and good/ok ratings for all of the previous.

Not performance based. Company has an objective to move work to Mexico. These 350 jobs will be part of the center of excellence they are building down there.
@fk+1jvena2ng Only one lives in Atlanta.
Okay to be fair there are plenty of LL4s in CVS. CVS is not just all the fancy stuff tech bro MJ talks about, all of vehicle controls is also under CVS.
it makes no fu--ing sense, we heavily rely on tmc support team for various customer cases, so most of the people who knows the sh-t in there, were let go, how fu-k we suppose to help our customers?
that one seemed very random, and some teams were cut to the bone, looks like one group won over another group
Go over to CVS and ask who the LL4 is. You'll find out.
It is rarely about performance at Ford. It's about how much you cost the company (age/pension/healthcare). Also it's about who you know, who will protect you, and where you are on an org chart. Ford has never wavered from this criteria. It's always about $$$$'s!
"....eat cheap fast food burgers, and guzzle cheap beer, then the CV LL4 (fattie from Atlantie)..."
See here's that tid-bit again...who in the actual F are you talking about? This is the 2nd or 3rd time this has been brought up. This person doesn't exist.
pension
as+1jvena2ng if it is performance based. Then explain why Jim Farley /Doug Fields still have a job? They provide a vision and plan. Then Throw Bill Ford on top of that as well. he was nearly fired by his own family in 06. In comes Allan BF steps down.
It's a political and numbers game. They do not even consider performance. Many current and former TAs have been laid off. Anyone that says it's performance is ignorant.
And it's more political than even mathematical. For instance, if you ogle the cute young talent and then discuss them, eat cheap fast food burgers, and guzzle cheap beer, then the CV LL4 (fattie from Atlantie) will never let your get laid off.
My manager said in our meeting when asked the same question, we assessed the skills and talents of our resources based on our future goals. Basically, not only just performance, but the updated skills matters.
OP: I only had 1 bad year. My entire team and manager were shocked. I've contributed a lot to Ford over the years.
I guess one year was enough to do it
Yes. It's definitely performance based. The team did not deliver as expected. There were only 350 employees were let go. There are 30,000 employees that did not delivered and they need to be let go too. This will make Ford a better company.
Performance based, you were given feedback in February that you weren’t making the cut and it came to be. Try harder next time.
Yes it was performance based. While FNV4 went down in flames. Management su-ked sure but the team still failed. Ford hired people specifically for FNV4 now it has a bloated roster.
Definitely performance based.
You should have worked harder and now you are out of a job and on the road to financial ruin.
Hope you learn your lesson.
