In the corridors where pink slips fly,
Corporate games, where profits vie,
Lurks a drama of the pink slip fray,
Where job cuts dance, a twisted ballet.

Once buzzing cubicles, now cold and stark,
Where dreams went to die, in the dark.
Each cut a dagger, each layoff a jest,
In the comedy of errors, they do their best.

Gone are the coffee breaks, the watercooler talks,
Replaced by the silence of empty clocks.
Families tighten belts, budgets strain,
While executives count their bonus gain.

Yet amidst the chaos, a silver lining gleams,
As HR scripts another "team synergy" scheme.
Hands that once typed, now clutch severance slips,
In the boardroom shuffle, where ethics take dips.

For in the circus of downsizing, tales unfold,
Of golden parachutes and futures sold.
In the game of layoffs, a bitter truth revealed,
As job security’s curtain is forever sealed.

Though the memos read with bureaucratic flair,
And morale drops, but who would care?
For in the corporate comedy, we play our part,
With resumes polished and a heavy heart.

So let us laugh, though the jokes are grim,
As we update LinkedIn with a grin.
For in the theater of corporate woe,
Lies the satire of what we know.

In the sitcom of "restructuring" lies,
A punchline sharp, that never dies.
For beyond the layoffs and the corporate farce,
We seek new beginnings, with a rueful laugh.

Completely agree. At Emerson, it's no secret that layoffs take place in September and at the end of March. Site HR informed us that there are no further planned layoffs this year, but I know from experience that is not the case.

Heck, there was one year when layoffs happened on April 1, so it's a known timeframe when the company does layoffs.

Dear Mr. @Pdti+1qZR0eVN,

I appreciate your engagement with this post. Allow me to clarify—I am the original author of this post. As with many discussions on this forum, the content is speculative and not guaranteed. While I don't have direct access to management decisions, it's important to note that layoffs have occurred previously, notably in January and potentially in March (although this hasn't been confirmed). There are reports of layoffs happening quietly. The reason for our discussions here is to share information and support one another through these uncertain times.

Thank you for raising your concerns, as they contribute to a more informed dialogue. Let's continue to share insights responsibly and respectfully.

Layoffs occured in late January. Several sales and BD positions were eliminated. I don't think there will be more layoffs anytime soon.

I heard from my contact in Mexico that several folks in his group were let go. Any word from other groups?

The countdown to end of March is over. We've reached April, where were the purported "End of March layoffs"? I'm all for spreading information, but check your sources carefully. Chicken Little and the boy who cried wolf just make people trust this place less.

With production moving to Mexico, I would not be surprised if Aiken is cut.

Wouldn’t surprise me with as slow as our production floor is. Line workers are doing facility improvement projects or burning up PTO. Walking the production floor after the weekend shift looks like the day after Christmas. Hardly any production going on. Gonna be a shock for some of these young carpet walkers who spend their “in person” days sipping coffee, walking around the circle and playing table tennis/fooseball.

Yyyyaaaassss, Queen. It’s true. We’re starting with the new T&M division.
Go boldly ambitiously or whatever.
