Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

Intel's 2025 plan leaked

Formally split into 2 entities - Intel Products and Intel Foundry.
Michelle becomes CEO of Intel Products.
Pat returns as CEO of Intel Foundry.

Announcement expected in Q1 and implemented by Q3. But in typical Intel fashion, expect delays.

And as always - you heard it here first ;)

It’s redundant to what everyone else has said but

Fab is a dead man walking
Putting Pat back in charge would guarantee that
But this is a he-l of a plan because then prodco doesn’t have to die too

Everything here should be obvious other than Pat returning, which would be absurd.

Intel Foundry will require deep pockets up front. Partner(s) are needed.

Not really a leak - this has been obvious since Pat and his cohorts started reporting foundry separately. Total spin-off was always the goal, even if mgmt wouldn't admit to it.

So just like Globalfoundries. Only mature tech. It’s not working out very well for them

Click bait. This doesn't make any sense at all.

Intel Foundry will have to cut costs by at least 40% to remain competitive. They need to build legacy products to spread the costs.

If this is true. Run now! Do everything in your power to stay on the opposite side of the fab half of the split. Historical the fab side flounders and flounders while the other side skyrockets. The fab side is always the losing side of this deal

Intel Foundry need a good leader to pay attention to execution. Good execution is the key to success, not the frequent change in direction, culture and managers every year.

From this perspective, Pat does not qualify. He does not know manufacturing at all.

Nice plan to fail at foundry. Pat is the old skool looser who represents everything customers don't want to work with.
