@OP Magna International has significantly reduced headcount this month across its teams in Germany, Austria, Canada, and the US—especially in network services and manufacturing. Meanwhile, hiring is ramping up in India. If you’re in affected regions, stay alert and reassess your positioning.
2 rounds of layoff since June 2024 at several locations in USA, Germany and Japan.
Almost 35% staff from radar product area let go.
Brand new facility -Heart lake. It opened, stared installing equipment for Fords Explorer Lightning to be assembled in Oakville then in September closed the doors after Ford cancelled the program.
At my plant we don't know anything about the company other then the name.. not even a handbook.. and lines that were projected to be high volume now have small orders but even those stop soon.. no one is telling us anything tho so we have no idea

Due to general motors slowing ev battery production.
We just cut people's hours. Salary and hourly, so that we don't have to lay people off again. But we heard that other Magna plants are doing layoffs instead. They said management outside of the plant wants 60k cut from what we pay for incomes. Per week. Last time they cut hours it lasted a month and then they cut people anyway so there's a rumor that come January, there will be more layoffs.
I would not mind if they were to offer me a package. I am sure there are many people like me.
