2025 is shaping up to be a year with increased energy production, lower gas prices, and lower inflation. Will these changes help Walgreens?

I wouldn’t be surprised to see Walgreens declare bankruptcy.

Walgreens rarely has had talented employees, that’s why this company has been falling apart gradually these years tons of jobs out there, if they are as talented as they claim, go get one, stop complaining

Market value of Walgreens is a meager $8B. Compare it to Walmart market cap of $670B. There are no takers to buy Walgreens even at such low valuation. It is a sign that buyers do not see value in Walgreens. All talk about turning around is just BS. Market does not believe it.

@OP+1vm8QILL the economy will get better overtime, but I think it's too late for Walgreens. They might be planning to sell next year.

The best situation in a better economy and lower inflation is that if our jobs do get cut in a sell, you'll be able to land your feet faster in a new place.

Sidenote: Anyone downvoting is just salty after Tuesday and don't realize they were actually a part of what was hurting our economy and Walgreens lol

I believe Tim Wentworth’s is earnest in his efforts but it may be too little to late. Walgreens failed to keep up with changing trends and invest in the future. Penny wise and pound foolish. With Amazon and Walmart offering same day delivery to your door, why would anyone choose Walgreens? The competition can certainly afford to undercut Walgreens on price to gain market share as well.

Walgreens can only get out of the hole with a capable leadership team. The current leadership team is clueless. All they know is to reduce costs with layoffs.

It's a shame Walgreens paid Tim Wentworth a $12,000,000 bonus his first 2 weeks with the company, if they wanted someone to run Walgreens DIRECTLY into the ground I would have done it for a cool million.

Look at the recent Sec fillings. There seems to be more selling of stock than buying by upper management. Is that a show of confidence in the future of the company?

I seriously doubt 2025 will bring lower gas prices and lower inflation, so I doubt Walgreens will bounce back.

No. There is too much that needs to be fixed.
