Thread regarding Intel Corp. layoffs

50% of the PEs, Senior PEs, Fellows should be booted

These PEs, Senior PEs, Fellows ate dinosaurs doing grade 7/8 work. They will not get any job in other companies and so they just hang around and collect $300K+ paycheck

@4gav
Are you aware that Intel has nonexempt employees? The average pay grades are 54-57, however there have been/still are some grades 53 & 58. If I remember correctly, there were some mask design technicians in Oregon at grade 58.

What’s the deal, Bro? Are Intel’s version of an executioner? Show some empathy or don’t return here ever again

There are many good ones and should not throw the baby out with the bathwater.

By the way, they make at least 400k, not 300k

Who ever does not hands on and living by presentations and getting statuses, in my opinion they should not be included in project costs

We have a G10 PE in DCAI and believe me when I say he doesn't know how to compile some modules.
How do some get to be PEs G10 ??

There are too many PEs, Sr. PEs. Way too many and very little of them actually code any longer. They sit in judgement of others. Time to snip snip snip... worthless title. Means nothing.

Intel needs to fix the number of PEs, srPEs, and fellows. No new super-seniors until an existing super-senior retires, dies, or is demoted.

it is not difficult to identify which PE, Senior PE, Fellow is useless and stealing Intel money, just make OKR public in the group.

The number of VP's and PE's/fellows jumped after BK became CEO. With so many of them, ironically the company still fell behind competitors.

These people are supported to bring success to Intel and cost more than average employees. If Intel is in deep sh it or in trouble with failures, they must be let go first to save cost and more troubles

It's virtually impossible to get from a G10 to a G11

Intel's PE to Fellows ladder is a scam. They get paid by the power points, words spoken, and influencing ability. They have a protracted way of putting things and explaining explanations. They are by design bloated.

@OP what grade are you and what are your contributions if a G10 and above do G7 and G8 work?

Please do to save Intel from deeper failures/troubles. At least to save some costs first.

50% of the PEs, Senior PEs, Fellows are very skillful, they are good at cheating on their tech skill plus stealing contribution from lower grade co-workers.

Influence?!! We don’t influence industry at all. We like to pretend we do. Or after the fact we will say we knew it all along. But we don’t. So yes they should all go

100% or should be rated based on hands-on work rather than “industry influence”, company influence and so on. They end up creating forums for their benefit.
