Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

What’s happening with SBG

There is so much uncertainty and chaos going on. There is zero trust with this leadership.

A guy in India with chatGPT can outperform Amercians for a fraction of the cost.

I'm curious what's worse for Cisco. Using plagiarized copyrighted code with the original copyright removed or using AI generated code which can't be copyrighted but will likely bear a Cisco copyright in the code.

Bad leadership is what's happening and no one above holding anyone accountable.

SBG was very good place to work/learn/play, I'm sad it turns out to be this way. Season workers being replaced by offshore members. Our knowledge considered trash for decision maker's mind. Any random people can do our works immediately !?.

A guy in India with chatGPT can outperform Amercians for a fraction of the cost. The skill gap is closing fast, as AI tooling gets better. Check out "OpenAI o1". It's only the beginning.

SBG may be hiring but I'm only seeing offshore hires. For the past several months in our general org WebEx space, it's been nothing but Indian folks being introduced to the team.

I see what you did there with “zero trust”

I'm in SBG right now and I would recommend folks to start looking for the exit. It's crazy how many toxic layers exist at the company. Lower-levels of the leadership will push blame to the upper parts of the company and there just isn't any expertise or accountability. The group I've been part of has been fairly isolated up until recently, and I just don't trust anything they say anymore. It's really sad because it feels like I've kind of wasted the last couple years of my career here.

SBG leader rocks !
This is another successful LR being presented. Trim the fat(high cost) with intern or overseas workforce.

Not sure what @OP is referring to as I was told that SBG had very modest impact and is one of the few areas hiring.

This is what happens when you have weak leadership who lack vision and the ability to execute on that vision. They have a VERY short term outlook.
