200 layoffs today and 8/1 in SND org (Software and Data), all departments getting a big haircut before the re-org. Change HC has ruined this company.

Ha! Sure! I guess if you believe the nonsense you spew, UHG/Optum leadership must be pretty stupid to have wasted so much $ and years of fighting to attain it. Here’s hoping one day your pipe dream matches the lofty stories you’ve convinced your self. We feel kind of sorry for you :(
ha like Change was some angel please. They are cut from the same cloth ever since they hopped into bed with private equity owned Emdeon held by non other than Blackstone group. Then joining forces with McKesson oh yup they are saints too. Of course the next step gut and do the ole IPO to cash out. Get the public money then sell out again. Hmm and not big enough to be a target then why all the noise from the government to stop the merger.....
Oh my goodness this thread…. CHC and their legacy, inadequate systems were the cause of this issue, you own it CHANGE employees. UHG owns not ensuring the IT was up to snuff but it’s your legacy garbage that cause this.
The people that buy into the propaganda! Change was a strong company, so much so that UHG paid $8B plus years of legal costs fighting the freaking DOJ to get it! And just in case you forgot, Optum has a LONGGGGGG history of layoff after layoff after layoff long before the Change acquisition. Was it our fault then too?! Stop lying to yourself and blame the right folks….UHG/Optum leadership - period! You’re surely smarter and better than stupid posts about how the Optum world was grand before Change. Insane.
"...IT leaders who k ew what they were doing..."
The same dead wood who failed to put two-factor authentication and exposed the entire health system to the hack?
Nobody at Change Healthcare knew what they were doing. Smoke and mirrors. Clown show. Bankrupt.
Change Healthcare was a terrible business, a complete smoke and mirrors sh!tbox. Dated, bankrupt, failure of an organization. And most of those who came with it to Optum are also dead wood in the worst way.
Andrew Witty ruined everything and the fools that allowed him to bully his way to the top. They blew it
@xyx+1tzcm8Bc absolutely correct. UHG/Optum ruined CHC. CHC as a company would not have been targeted they weren't big enough. They were after the deep pockets who made a conscious decision to NOT invest in infrastructure and therefore they are not reaping the reward for NOT hardening the infrastructure.
@OP+1tzcm8Bc You are shortsighted and you obviously do not understand what this M&A company is all about. GET your FACTS straight!!! They ruin themselves...but actually, the stock price is through the roof. The company doesn't care whose lives they ruin. Nor does the leadership or company care about healthcare or employees or the improving any health system. It's all just words.
This company (UHG/Optum) cares only about record profit$. They bought Change Healthcare because they wanted to own the clearinghouse data to undercut competition and to remove the company as a competitive market disrupter. That's it.
After the purchase, they rif'd IT leadership, they rif'd many, many people (and we are glad to be out of there and feel awful for our former colleagues who are still there taking the brunt of the debacle) It's very sad and disheartening.
UHG/Optum is getting what it deserves. Paying out billions in response to the data incident is just the beginning. There will be many lawsuits, fines and penalties. It will be ongoing for years. Read the thousands of articles on the internet you will see.
The stock price is through the roof and that is all that is important. The company continues to deny healthcare claims, layoff employees, not provide raises or bonuses despite their record profits. Unfortunately, it is a toxic, despicable, unethical, dirty organization. ...maybe one day, it will all catch up with them. $ick people!
No, Optum ruined CHC. The attack would not have happened had Iptum not bought CHC and laid off IT leaders who k ew what they were doing!
