Thread regarding Cisco Systems Inc. layoffs

EMEA Leadership Clean-up

I completely agree with the previous comment about the EMEA leadership clean-up. I've been working at Cisco for over eight years, and it's clear to everyone that the company isn't what it used to be. It's become a toxic environment over the years. There are numerous reports of managers misusing their positions, with many complaints from employees. These managers cover for each other, and no action is ever taken. The situation in Poland and Portugal is particular. I've heard a lot of complaints from the engineering teams in "Professional Services," involving multiple HR engagements. It seems like they want individual contributors to quit while keeping the managers. So many arrangemnets between each other. They spend a lot of money on marketing that doesn't reflect reality. Poor management is leading to poor customer experience and success.
Customers, people complain... and nothing... People want to see and on leadership level changes too.

Not only Poland, Portugal, and South Africa, but also from UKI and Switzerland you can hear lot of complaints from IC‘s. The problem is that many directors, country managers, VPs, and SVPs in EMEA have known each other for years, even decades, for example, from newhire/bootcamp programs. They protect each other, getting their kids into good positions or internships. As an employee, it’s best to just stay quiet if you want to keep your job and not be affected by the next round of layoffs. Some good people were laid off in my team while others, who do nothing but have a better relationship with the decision-maker (aka a-s l-ckers), remain. Regarding the comment below about ethics and more HR reports: I know several people who were laid off after reporting arrangements between customers, partners, and Cisco AM to Ethics, which clearly broke COBC. Cisco needs, as someone mentioned now multiple times, a deep review by an independent consulting company to identify those „leaders“ who are ruining this company to the ground for their own benefit and selfish career progress.

It will not happen. Boys protect the boys in their little club.
The only hope is ethics, bypass hr. Find stuff where they break our stuff we sign yearly, ergo the cobc. Document and fire away . Only way to go over hr and we should use it more (but this will be a clm)
